  1. We've stuffed Chelsea and should have stuffed Man United and nearly got a win at Paris Saint Germain with the same eleven players and more than an entire team out injured and as soon as we don't play well and lose the toys come out like were not allowed to have bumps in the road like every other team in the history of football.
  2. Football in you cant always play well and win shocker to some fans.
  3. Excluding Kinnear as interim I think for 15 of ours it goes back 32years to Ardiles and I only think of about about five era's of any longevity in that.
  4. Had a good record against us when he was at Boro at least. Better record than the mackems have but like everyone else apart from the mackems I guess Boro never bothered counting such things.
  5. Sheffield United would be even Wilder than that...or some other, better, pun.
  6. Exacatly. The fact that there's a desperate last gasp push for a goal means something has been off with the previous 96minutes. Were just ignoring that to focus on the exceptional 30seconds.
  7. Not to completely kill the romance but Its just football and teams score stoppage time winners and equalisers every week. We've all done it plenty without winning any titles. Sheffield United found a way to beat Wolves deep into stoppage time. Can't get less Champions material than that
  8. Definitely in the four from six and happy camp. Were above target given the situation at present. Nice to keep that ticking over. The two games will likely be very different watches. Expect to create more against Spurs than these.
  9. Some cup draws this season. Had more interesting cup ties this season than in the whole Ashley era combined.
  10. Feels like drawing a non-league team away. Another day at the office if we win. One of the greatest results in their history if they do. After the Christmas schedule a nothing game would have been handy with the fixtures and objectives either side of it. Even allowing for Sheffield Wed last season nobody could blame Howe for fielding as weak a team as possible in the circumstances - cant take that chance now. The objective would be the opposite of that game, give it hell for 45mins and get the game won then bring on the kids. Far easier said than done because our dominance of games seldom is reflected in the amount of goals we stick in.
  11. Alec Mathie had a better goals and assist per 90 ratio that Andy Cole.
  12. Its a wonder they just dont deploy the intimidating look or perfect remark that sends anyone they run into anywhere in a mag top scurrying away or into submissive silence.
  13. Christ. Anyone would think it wsa all they had or something. And even then they've dredged up a dynamic that means nothing in general and meant nothing to us when we had 6wins and a 1-1 draw out of 7 between 01 and 08. Suppose having more to life than finishing above them or winning (alternate depending on which scenario suits) helps. We achived that whilst playing in Europe, the Champions League and challenging for titles. They achieved it whilst circling the toilet.
  14. This lying about their gates may stave-off the self-consciousness for a while but the delusion of grandeur adds pressure on the club from their toxic fans (home record this year is relegation levels) who think they should be on a par with clubs that actually get 38,000 and clubs that get 25,000 but whose income is higher.
  15. I am assuaged by that a bit. Their not having an injury crisis or the spirit to put enough effort in against Galatasaray balances it out. We'd bray them now with even close to a full squad available.
  16. Obviously he's a good player but its the composure and brain I guess for such relative inexperience. Bet our recruitment team put as much thought into each facet.
  17. The right wrong decision would have been for the referee to give it as it looked like a penalty but be overruled by VAR. What actually happened inverted the whole purpose of VAR and shat all over a bloody good refereeing instinct decision, something they'll make extinct.
  18. Yep. First time I watched a PSG game as far back as 1995 at Barcelona they had the same thing.
  19. Three of the four Champions League groups we've been in have come down to the final game. Only the melancholic planet bore under Dalglish (and now UEFA) could avoid it
  20. Completley different football culture - a trade off to become family friendly and the richest league in the world was leaving all that stuff behind. They've a lot of glory hunters mind. Seldom filled their ground pre-takeover, even for cup finals on home turf, couldn't even half fill it often.
  21. Their results and where they are in the league table is an utter headfuck Have they even played well once this season?!
  22. Said it on the atmosphere thread, but nowhere is consistently good anymore. Were going back generations now for the last time anywhere at a good atmosphere more often than not.
  23. Its the least shit I've seen Man United look for a good while. A mark of Everton perhaps though.
  24. Were in Europe and challenging for things they're in the second tier mid-card some not quite elite club has been docked points (Spurs) Manchester club is on top Elite club whinging about new minted upstart (Blackburn) Boro in the 2nd tier appoint former Man United captain and England midfielder as manager England boring people to dispair. Everton in the relegation zone Arsenal getting done by the football authorities/manager behaving like a tit Chelsea midtable Scotland qualify for Euros Just waiting for Whigfield to make a come back tbh
  25. Wonder what they'd think of ffp in that case. Having billions available but only being able to spend what they make ie less than West Brom and Norwich.
