  1. Happens You don't win every game you're logical favourites for when Ipswich were sunk without a trace, against KK's entertainers they drew 1-1 here. Southampton did the double over us when we finished 3rd under KK. Mackems went down in 96/97 and drew 1-1 here, we finished 2nd qualified for the CL. (Man U drew at home to relegated Boro, lost at the mackems but won the league).
  2. 100% Be disappointed we didn't play as the standards we've set and at the result, but don't forget the context. Insult to the team and you cant get vexed. Every time we don't win the bed-wetting bothers me more than the result. Had it after Sheffield Wed and were off to Wembley and haven't lost a game since, was it worth it?
  3. The absence of his sharpness (feet and mind) was keenly felt until, Gordon's entrance. The two of them should have a rejuvanating effect themselves but a full week off wont go amiss think there'll be a different zest at Bournemouth, win lose or draw
  4. Were only chasing top 4 because we've overachieved massively in other games. This was not the goal for this squad but for that. 2points against them to finish in the top half is par for the course. Totally agree with everything else.
  5. Yes. And when that happened regularly under KK we evolved. Changing the 5-a-side short passing game to use the flanks more and a bit of directness. We don't have options at the moment to do anything different being right at the start of the development.

    Anthony Gordon

Good start. Felt like he had the energy that's on the wane everywhere else. Think he'll start at Bournemouth with it being an away game and pretty from there on, all things being equal
  7. Got to allow for him coming back in after so few starts. That was a typical ASM performance either way if people are honest about it though. Has more bad games than good but provided that's accepted we can debate whether to tolerate it or not, the pro's and con's, as a pro HBA/Ginola/Tino/Robert guy. Were a team reliant on the sum of its parts now however.
  8. I kinda expected that. After the lord mayor's shows, Bruno/Isak out, getting tired, opponent that wont mind sitting back, our difficulty scoring So it is what it is. Thought the goal might spark WIlson into life but didn't seem to and ASM albeit a first start for ages were disappointing though.
  9. Middlesbrough must look on in envy at a team 6places below that's scored less goals.
  10. Yeah I've a similar sense. A chance to put the pretenders in their place, something to gage that they've still got it. A bigger game for them that way on than us plus we have a CL place to be nervous about. *especially if Everton turn them over, which wouldn't be a surprise
  11. Brighton and Brentford, just great jobs done there. Keeps some of the c*nts at bay into the bargain
  12. Southampton are so down. Shot their bolt with the chance of a new manager bounce and everything.
  13. Haven't had a shot on goal. If I didn't know better I'd swear they got a wee bit carried away about beating Middlesbrough
  14. If Liverpool don't beat Everton its the shock I'd be mindful of against them rather than anything logical
  15. National radio's brief report failed to convey they were the new Entertainers. "Poor game" and "Sunderland are struggling to get into it" was mentioned though. The only logical explanation must be this is the work of the Magedia again. Imagine how great a team Millwall must be though to be ahead of the mackems having played less games.
  16. Was a Villa 4-4 Leicester in 94/95, something crazy about it that I can't recall. Maybe 4-1 and Leciester made it 4-4 or something.
  17. Come You Not From Newcastle? - Benjamin Britten/Sarah Brightman
  18. Just watched the Leeds home game from that year, no commentary the sound is unmolested and its much the same. QPR too. Weren't anything out of the ordinary games for atmosphere by the then standards. Think its why people should ease up on the atmosphere critiques, its the best now, it was the best then but its never going to be as good anywhere now as it was then generally. Same goes for the football if were honest but we dont let that get in the way. Something I remember distinctly about their equaliser against us in 90/91 was this feeling in the crowd, frustrated that because Burridge went crazy they got a goal they'd done nothing to deserve. It skewered the gameplay and the table and felt instantly crucial, which it turned out to be. We'd have been 2nd or something with a win but just dropped after that whilst they got promoted on the back of a slightly better start than us, having until that goal not been better than us for a year and a half.
  19. Gordon (Mag) Armstrong's header in a Quarter-Final - good to see their level of iconic moments is in keeping with their level of iconic players.
  20. Think the ball was in play for 61'. So it was more like a shot on target every 2minutes and a shot at goal every 90seconds. Their keeper looked knackered at the end. Tino's touches for the assists and his goal just sublime
  21. Don't know what these new regulations are but I do know mackems would gladly sacrifice the hope of their club ever being anything to stop us being successful
  22. Murphy, he'd swallow himself with that size of his smile, like when Pacman dies. Its the sort of daft unexpected thing that can happen. Missalotivic slamming in that goal for Villa in 96. Steve (who) Morrow winning it for Arsenal before Adams broke his neck in the celebrations.
  23. Straw clutching substitution Mags haven't played at the new Wembley....for a final > Mags play boring football <
  24. Context for people that moan about the atmosphere at SJP. Happens everywhere, a lot more and a lot more often than here.
