Wouldn't happen to wor Malik.

Upon seeing the name Oscar Bobb I was expecting him to look like an extra in a Motown music video and honestly close enough.
-
I think more than anything it just speaks to him knowing that completely burning bridges is never a good idea with anything in life. Something Isak himself has yet to learn clearly.
-
Yeah most players at that level historically if they had anything about themselves just wanted to keep winning again and again. Besides I think this discussion is just massive assumptions based on not much at all. Usually I would consider players who are still young but experienced at winning things to be a good thing.
-
Not gonna lie I think judging his perceived character and desire to still push himself just because he happens to be part of a successful team to be quite weird. Yes, in theory someone younger who hasn't experienced what he has experienced at PSG could possibly be hungrier to succeed but that's not necessarily true. That's something that is unique to each individual person and i'm pretty sure the club will have done the necessary research to know whether that's going to be an issue or not.

We were linked with him earlier in the summer but I haven't read anything past just general interest stuff. To be fair the way the press was writing about him the past couple of months I'm assuming most of Europe had interest in him.
-
He's good at finding space in what you would consider "problematic" areas for the opposition. I guess we would need another set of stats to determine what he did with said space But overall it's a positive thing to be good at.

Reading up on him, I think playing in his apparent natural position of left sided CM rather than on the wing will probably be an greater difference maker than overcoming apparent injury history. Of course he needs to be available but I get the impression based on what I read that playing on the wing wasn't doing him any favours.

Very recent thing tbf, I hadn't posted in the football section for years until this summer. I decided to see what was going on after posting in the video games section for the first time in a while. I have since decided to give watching a games a chance this season however I get the feeling it won't last but we'll see.

I support tbh don't let anyone dictate how you pull up ngl.

Strongly wanted instead of only wanted

It does seem that way and probably how it's going to happen. I just meant that Jackson probably doesn't have the upside (from what I read) to be a legitimate Isak replacement. I think if they buy him he would probably moved on again in a few years when better becomes available.
-
Looking at his goal return only (I haven't watched him like you all have) I don't disagree. I think the best thing you can do is look for younger players with the upside to one day approximate what he gives and fill up the squad with as much talent as possible. In fairness I think that's exactly what they tried to do this summer.
-
I imagine there's levels to it though. The fact people on here said they'd be happy with Jackson but only as a Wilson replacement speaks volumes I think. The first choice replacement would have to be of much higher quality I would imagine.

More like football game in general

I haven't watched a game in nearly 10 years and even I know what the reaction to that will be.

He's been pretty good from what I can tell this summer. Plus he looks like he frequents the barbers so he gets bonus points for that too.

I still think most teams these days (in any sport) will likely be extra cautious with managing players anyway because of how science based it's become. You can expect that from them just fine, I just think in most cases teams will seek to be giving them as much rest as they can. Even if it's on average an extra 10 minutes a week, eventually it adds up over multiple seasons.
-
The point of limiting minutes isn't because an individual can't handle the workload. It's so you can manage that work load long term and keep them at peak performance for longer. Because a player can play 90 mins all season doesn't mean that's the best thing for them.
-
Andy Howe wants to bring someone in at the same pace as his negotiation skills?
-
You can't look at players like numbers on a sheet. If Ramsey, Wissa, Thiaw etc can actually be relied upon to be trusted with significant minutes then that is extra depth. Everyone says Longstaff, Wilson etc weren't being used so having players that are used and trusted to play more than spot minutes is extra depth even if technically the amount of numbers in the squad is the same.

I haven't watched it but it's a genuinely important skill to possess tbf. Some people have literally made all time great careers off the back of it.
