Gordon scores that easy one on one, or the pen, and this thread is still on page 2.
-
Think he just let himself down with a few needlessly sloppy passes. Those aside he was decent.
-
Oh Christ, you're a telling it like it is/I'm entitled to my opinion-er. I'll not bother next time
-
I don't think anyone reading what I've said would say im saying that, because I'm not. What I'm saying is really simple: previously we created little and took our chances, tonight we created plenty and didn't.
-
Started really poorly and was probably our poorest player. Ended up MOTM imo, shame that he and everyone couldn't finish against toffee hehehe
-
Oh aye, I was being facetious just forget the ellipsis
-
We weren't creating previously and squandering chances, that's just factually wrong. We were outstripping our xG because we were creating little but getting goals. Tonight was the opposite, an xG of nearly 3, no goals.
-
This is exactly it. The result dictating the perception of the performance. No one had any trouble seeing that the performances weren't very good against Wolves and Spurs despite the result. Not sure why it's not applying the other way...

He lead the horse to water AFAIC.

Utter bollocks Tonight we did the opposite of what we've been doing. Until now we've been carving very little open, creating not that much, and getting through it with a breakaway, a worldie or a pen. Tonight we created plenty of openings and our final ball or shot let us down.
-
We either created or had the opportunity to create plenty. The final pass or shot was the issue and personally that's not something I think is a huge concern in a single match. I'd be far more concerned if: 1. I'd seen us have a few matches like that where we miss multiple one on ones, a pen, etc Or 2. We weren't creating those opportunities in the first place

You're always like this though Pilko

Can't fault the tactics, approach and most of our play right up until the final ball or shot, which was exclusively honking, up to and including a fucking penalty. Off the ball, pressing, defending, winning duels, movement, most of the passing, intent, working openings: all either good, decent, or noticeably better. Final ball, final shot, positioning in the box: all so poor you can barely believe it. Not one for me to get too pissed off about, mainly because the big issue this season I've been worried about has been performances more than results. For me that was far better than Wolves, but with a worse result; swings and roundabouts. Pope: 7 Trippier: 6.5 Schär: 6 Burn: 7 Hall: 6 Bruno: 6.5 Joelinton: 7.5 Tonali: 5 Murphy: 6 Almiron: 6.5 Gordon: 5 Barnes: 6.5 Willock: 6

Howe's record with players is good anyway, but his centre back record is so good that I just have to assume he'd turn Guehi into something extremely good and so far unseen.
-
Ridiculously poor quality obviously , but did enjoy spotting me hands on head then doubling over laughing and my BiL just standing hand on mouth after Schar's goal on the match cam.

That's the exact scale

Like the one below for example? As has been said, it's just for illustration purposes but you don't need to measure it to see that applying The Leazes end all the way around SJP means you get a bigger footprint than the current site, that's the exact reason why we can't do it. It's absolutely bigger btw
-
It has a bigger footprint It's a mock up of if the Leazes stand size went all the way round. We're all just posting suggestions anyway but I'd argue that Pons' contribution considering his job is more valuable than most on here.
-
Any way to pin this post btw? It's still the most useful one in here.
-
I get your point although I do think there is benefit in staying closer to SJP and limit the impact on the area. Just went searching for some original posts post takeover from Ponsaelius and saw that we've had this exact conversation before.
