I'll say it again, Bruno Fernandes and what he's reknowned for should be a big clue. I'll say no more.

Nothing to do with bookings, take a step back from bookings and free kicks.

Bruno F being at number 1 should be a huge clue like

Yeah nothing to do with anything like that, but it is

Was fine until the wage cap. There shouldn't be a wage cap whatsoever. I think I've said this before, but professional sport is one of the only areas where the people who actually create the value are often the ones being compensated for it to anywhere near the same level. If you put a wage cap in, that money is still in circulation, it just goes to more of the people who have done almost nothing to create it.

True, but then if Mitchell was brought in without any consultation with Howe, then you can understand why. -

Whether you agree or see it or not isn't really the point, you said you couldn't understand why people have a negative slant on it and I'm trying to explain in the simplest way possible because it's not too complicated. Whether you agree or not is your choice. -

Such utter bollocks It's 3 years since the takeover, it's very specifically a problem people have with Mitchell. -

Yes but I'm replying to a post where the other person is saying that 'our top brass' didn't think Guehi was worth big money...despite us bidding big money -

I'm in a bullet point mood so you'll have to excuse me So everyone has a negative view on our transfer window. Howe does an interview to answer questions that the fans and media have. During that interview he: presents a united front, apportioning blame to himself talks about working relationships needing to get up and running and working properly bemoans PSR No one has any problem with it Mitchell does an interview to answer questions that the fans and media have During that interview he: doesn't present a united front and instead: bemoans our existing strategy distances himself from the failure of the transfer window while attaching Howe to it by saying he was supporting him rather than leading implies that the blame is apportioned to Ashworth and potentially Howe, Staveley, Ghoudoussi -

It could be wrong, but no less wrong than any other reported fee. Even if it was wrong I'd be surprised if it was wrong to the extent that it wouldn't still fall into the bracket of big money. -

Our top brass who just spent all summer trying to sign Marc Guehi? Are you alright? -

Have you just got into football recently or something? You don't think teams spend big on players to fit their system? That's wrong at such a basic level that it makes your condescension funny tbh. -

I can easily find professional and fan opinions to back up my own if you're going down the appeal to authority route. Not least Eddie Howe. Spurs fans think Romero is a complete liability for a start... And yes, yes you do 'spunk £70m' on players who fit the system. Spending solely based on whether you rate players or not without any care for cohesion is how you end up in the mess Man United did, or with PSR on your back, the mess Everton did. -

I'll have a go. It's not about who's better really anyway, it's about who suits the system and their different strengths and weaknesses. As of right now pound for pound I'd go: Romero - Yes, easily, he's a rash, hot-headed moron VDV - Yes, because the best ability is availability VVD - No, but he has 10 years on him, so in a way yes. He was also signed for a huge amount that dwarfs the Guehi fee with inflation. Stones - As above Martinez - Yes Ake - Ironic choice considering who saw his talent, but no Konsa - Yes van Hecke - Yes Gabriel - No Saliba - Obviously no Dunk - Yes Dias - No (again though, huge fee) Akanji - yes I have him as being on par or better than 7/13 -

He can speak however he wants, it's just a personal thing that whenever I hear management speak I'm hardwired to distrust that person. I think it's mainly because throughout my career nigh on everyone who talks like that can't be trusted or are at best bullshitters I'd make an educated guess that there are a lot of people with similar experiences at work too. There are exceptions like Mike Ashley, but personally think that as a general rule digging out anyone when you're in Mitchell's position, no matter how true it might be or how deserving of it that person might be, is a poor reflection on the person doing it in terms of professionalism. It's also a bad PR move. Maybe that's just me, but I don't think blame culture - especially with existing colleagues - is a good thing at all. I think there's an easily tread path between saying 'sorry lads, I fucked up' and insinuating that Howe, Ashworth, Staveley and Ghoudoussi are to blame. We don't even need to look that far, Howe navigated that comfortably - accepting responsibility, that working relationships are in progress etc while towing the party line and presenting a united front. Mitchell didn't do that. -

Hall was admittedly expensive but we're still in that phase where we don't know for sure whether it was a bargain or an overspend. Chelsea fans certainly seemed to think that we'd robbed them blind. Targett is the only player I can point at and say it's really not worked out and that's mainly because of injury.
