  1. Don't really blame him tbh. But again, if he's going it needs to be abroad. Selling him to Liverpool would be completely unacceptable
  2. Still, good news about the chocolate oranges.
  3. Chelsea and Man United are both cartel clubs that - while benefitting from them - are still working around the PSR there to benefit them to go above and beyond. There are plenty of levers we could pull short of taking a points hit to circumvent PSR that we're not pulling, that was just an example of an in-emergency-pull lever. Selling assets, legal challenges, loopholes? As we're barely pulling levers to work within PSR and max out - player trading, sponsorships etc, moaning about it is no more an excuse than it is a solution a few years on and with other clubs working around it. The nearest thing to bemoaning PSR being a solution would be a legal challenge, and we're not doing that either, so even then I would think that you'd want us/PIF to actually do something about the situation considering the power they can wield?
  4. It's taken me 4 years to point my finger at the club on this so I don't really agree with your take on going straight for them. Both things can be true at the same time. The set of rules are in place to hold us and others back, while we've also done nothing to work around them. All of the things we've done are about working firmly within the rules and meeting them square on, and even then they've been limited - not enough player trading, sponsorships, or legal challenges. Take for example a points hit - for your argument that taking a points hit would have ruined last season, the counter to that is the reason you get a points hit in the first place. Eg 'over' spending on players can negate that and/or you take the hit but the squad is now a title challenging one (for example) after the punishment is dealt with.
  5. Take your pick: player trading (more situations like Kelly, or even just how Villa have done it), selling assets to ourselves, going for loopholes, going wild with sponsorships, taking the points hit, having a legal team, going litigious, and probably much more. If Isak goes abroad I'd actually give the club some credit, it could revolutionise everything. If we sell him to Liverpool it's an absolute joke.
  6. Tbf we've done absolutely nothing to try and work around the rules either. It's all well and good bemoaning them, but other clubs, not just the cartel clubs are finding ways to work around them and to speculate to accumulate while we work within them, follow them to a T, and bear the cost of doing so. Moaning isn't a solution
  7. Kind of the point I'm making. Without Howe we'd be nowhere near it being a realistic stated aim either.
  8. I can live with selling him if it's for a good fee and it's abroad. If we sell him to Liverpool then everyone involved with it at the club wants shot with shit, it would be an absolutely pathetic move. I can just about stomach those in our fanbase who go on about 'the food chain', but for it to be the attitude of those inside the club when our stated aim is to be number 1 is totally unacceptable.
  9. N-O famously always locks threads on the basis of some posters requesting it because they have no self control like.
  10. Rewind a couple of years and a lot of N-O, including its self-proclaimed experts would have had Paul Mitchell as their first choice SD.
  11. We didn't try for anyone else than Anita IIRC...

That's 10mins per match away from top level like, especially for a rotation player who doesn't take pens.
  13. The halcyon days of circa 2004 when the furore on here was based on Sunday's News of the World lies and Del Piero airport sighting lies. We were always a bit mental I reckon, social media just preys on it.
  14. Unless you're TBG you're going to get taken seriously when it's something other people are saying earnestly. Glad you're just taking the piss though.
  15. You would hope that it's deliberate hyperbole to make a point, but I've seen it enough times and fleshed out as a serious point enough to still give it the benefit of the doubt. Always the possibility that a lot of it is engagement farming/rage baiting like.

Best mental state to be in is that Wissa is shite and not worth signing. Then if we sign him he's everything I've ever dreamed of.
  17. Way back in the reserves vs frequent first teamers Ashley would never have had paid for the best striker in the world in the first place. Good was good enough to sell at the first opportunity. Can't believe I'm arguing this tbh, they're both obviously chalk and Cheese.
  18. It all harks back to that interview he did for me, came in like an absolute mad cunt insinuating the plan was for Howe (a brilliant DoF in his own right) to stick to coaching, then using management speak at any opportunity, and criticising a transfer policy that had contributed to us staying up, getting into the CL, and since then win a cup and qualify again. Even after that I was willing to give him a chance and let the relationships build, but everything I've heard about him since then has backed up the conclusion that he's a talk-a-good-game, arrogant management speak tosspot and that aside from selling Lloyd Kelly to Juve he's done nothing of note in his actual role. Our posts about him on here are identical to the ones I read about him on the Monaco forum while he was there and raised a few red flags about him. It's a shame because when it was announced I was really excited about him based on his incomings at Spurs.
  19. When did Ashley sign Athletico Madrid and Chelsea players and hoy the best striker in the world on a new contract rather than immediately cash in? The window has been really frustrating but the comparisons with Ashley are always insane.

I think this is going to become an increasingly popular opinion if things don't change fast.

What was the Forest bid that was rejected before they were quoted £50m?

Sorry, what's the point in that bid?
