  1. They get taught that from nursery
  2. Don't worry, I think joey was saying who he likes.
  3. Muniz would be the player I'd expect us to go for with a similar sort of profile to Wissa, like. Younger, possibly cheaper than Wissa? Decent goalscoring record when fit, a year left on his contract I think.
  4. Almost certainly. We're seemingly the keymasters this window like.
  5. Would imagine it basically puts a stop to any Wissa deal tbh. Not too fussed about it either, just not sure who else we're going to go for now - just hope that the alternative is to go big.
  6. Sometimes yes sometimes no. At this point it seems like the only responsible thing to do, the moment our true intentions are known one of the big 6 swoops in. Have to say, Wissa doesn't feel right to me in terms of him being a target and him wanting to come.
  7. Tbf, so are Liverpool. The transfer market is utterly bizarre.
  8. Don't think there's ever been a player more in need of a reducer when they play us.
  9. I wouldn't be putting £50m down on him like, I have to say.
  10. Not a move I mind, but Ornstein really is worthless now. That's such a meaningless tweet.
  11. There comes a point where there really isn't any smoke without fire. If the two most 'trusted' journos are singing from the same hymn sheet and keep saying the same thing over and over again...
  12. Not really, it's being pushed by Ornstein, Romano and nigh on every journalist out there that that's the situation. Every tweet makes the point explicitly.
  13. I did explain the difference tbf like Elanga was our first choice for RW, it's ironically Ekitike who's our 3rd or 4th choice after Delap, Pedro etc presumably because of the fee involved. It would be more like if we opened talks with Brighton for Pedro while Delap was still at Ipswich available and were briefing the media that we would only go for Pedro if Ipswich changed their stance, but that - actually - we don't really want Pedro. It's all about how these things are presented and when. The whole Isak/Ekitike thing isn't a simple 'target 1 not available move onto target 2' situation at all.
  14. By far the worst thing in all of this is the fool me once shame on you, fool me twice element to it. There was a window open to sign him, so I get that, but similar to what happened with Palace last year, we knew who we were dealing with - in this case someone who was going to come here and then at the last minute went and signed for another club who swooped in - so it's it's all a bit if you lie with dogs you get fleas.
  15. Read what I said again - the bluff has nothing to do with signing or not signing, that's just what you picked up from what I said. The bluff is about who they actually want. They keep telling adding the caveat over and over again that they'll only go for Ekitike if the door on Isak stays shut, as if to try and tempt Newcastle into it - but because of the way they're going on we already know that Liverpool don't really want Ekitike.
  16. Their threat is 'give us Isak or we'll spend £80m on a player we keep telling everyone we don't really want' - they keep telling us they don't really want him - that's the bluff. If it was more 'Liverpool have moved onto Ekitike after it was made clear that Isak isn't available' that would be another matter because it would be a simple matter of them moving on to another player they rate highly - but every single brief on this mentions that they want Isak, don't really want Ekitike, and that part of the motivation for doing it is to cockblock us. And the worst they can do is sign a player we wanted, that they don't really want, spend £80m in the process and we keep Isak. It's not really even a threat, they're spending a huge amount on something that barely damages us.
  17. I still have absolutely no idea why Liverpool think this is smart and why anyone else does. What they're doing is so basically stupid from a strategic point of view it absolutely beggars belief. It's not even a case of us needing to call their bluff, they're literally telling us they're bluffing.
  18. Nah, the comments about him precede all this like. He only used to tweet when it was a bombshell. This summer he's been really active with speculative and giving his two penneth on situations.
  19. The scales have gone the other way on these transfer updates now. Unless there's an update I just want them to shut up.
