  1. Weird how long that took, it was obvious.
  2. 11 points between 4th and 17th
  3. Him having a good work rate elsewhere still doesn't mean he had it here. Every other player gets pelters for not putting in the work. Even in exactly the same season a player who put in much more effort than him (Sissoko) was criticised for not putting in enough, yet Wijnaldum got away with it for some weird reason. His away performances were about as anonymous as it gets, Jermaine Jenas had more of a spine.
  4. Absolutely guarantee that most of the people on here will be exactly the same a couple of years after tasting a bit of success, if it comes. Not even a shadow of a doubt in my mind.
  5. Wonder if he still disappears during every away game
  6. Before you try to go to sleep tonight imagine him not breaking eye contact with you while taking his new leather driving gloves off one finger at a time, his lips pursed.
  7. The proof will be in the pudding but the only relevant standout I see there is Paratici at Spurs unless I've missed anyone? Still completely night and day from the Ashley era of course.
  8. Hattrick against Sunderland will probably get you there but I never liked him personally. He was good playing as a second striker but an atrocious midfielder. Carroll was so dominant during that time that he made Nolan and especially Barton look much better than they were without him.
  9. Yeah, would be good to see, cheers.
  10. No they don't. Overnight? Howeh, it's been 2 and a half months. If they're the right company to bring in, have experience with other clubs, or specialise in sport/football, absolutely fair enough though. I think I'm just programmed to read consultant and shudder because in my own experience they've always been unbelievably inenpt The Apprentice wankers.
  11. Maybe I'm just programmed to think of it like this, but having all the money in the world and spunking it on outsourcing to some private 'specialist' recruitment firm who almost certainly aren't the best option available is about as Tory as it gets.
  12. I listened to a Liverpool podcast a while ago where they talked about our takeover a fair bit. In that episode they also spoke at length about how Divock Origi has the ideal life. Every time he plays I remember what they said and how it seems more and more true. Just casually dipping into games to do big things in the big moments, being loved by the club's fans but with none of the baggage of being a hugely successful we'll known footballer, being incredibly rich, and just getting on with reading your psychology books and your hobbies.
  13. Don't pretend Rock and Roll part 2 isn't an absolute banger.
  14. Love the art not the artist.
  15. Money only talks when it outweighs the loss of selling.
  16. Wasn't comparing to Everton because like you I think the idea of relegation, that their squad is poor, or that the situations are comparable is ridiculous. Was just a separate point tbh. Enrique was alright that season I thought, Colo had a few shockers but yeah definitely because they were adjusting/being constantly exposed because of probably the worst midfield I've seen at Newcastle.
  17. I still maintain that the main back 4 that season was on paper one the best I've known us to have (Beye - best RB I've seen at Newcastle, Coloccini - not great that season but became excellent, Bassong - had a good season despite us being shit, Enrique - had an okay season and became excellent) and that it's an excellent example of why a good defence isn't enough when you have an absolutely terrible centre midfield protecting it (Butt, Smith, Nolan)
  18. The team that hasn't been relegated since 1951, has quality players with more to return from injury, with Rafa Benitez as manager, closer in points to 5th as they are to 18th, and with Norwich, us, Burnley, Watford, Brentford, Crystal Palace, and Leeds knocking about? Absolutely no chance.
  19. I don't believe that's more true than at any other club's set of fans, but it wouldn't bother me anyway tbh, being arsed about that stuff is a waste of energy. Everton are going to be absolutely nowhere near a relegation battle, if they were you'd probably have seen different reactions on here.
