I can't stand stats like that, not least because they often backfire and hint at the opposite of what they're trying to prove. eg high up in terms of carries to shot involvements paired with low assists and goals suggests towards a player having no end product.

I don't think it reads anything like that. There are people disagreeing with each other on what this means based on what they either understand or think they understand, but for the most part I think most of us don't know what any of this really means either way.

On paper Everton's signings look pretty bad so far imo.

He was a 4ish imo, but it's not a criticism of him. I'd have been shocked and completely blown away to see him put in a 6 or 7 performance against a Champions League team.

Not bad just clearly in a game with an amount of pace that's probably new to him. Didn't have the time and space that he'll be used to so got caught on the ball and wasn't where he needed to be off the ball.

Getting torn apart like that is all part of the learning curve for a player that age.

The one Vs Chelsea is exactly the point as well. Take that away and it was his best performance of the season for us, he was incredible until he lost Havertz. An easy 10 and we were robbed that day, but it was also an incredible ball, touch, and finish.

Maybe that yeah. Don't get me wrong like, I agree that he's been so solid and he's a hell of a back up to have. If he could cut that out of his game, whatever it is, he'd probably keep his place, he's that good.

It's not quite that because Bramble's mistakes were usually catastrophically stupid and more regular than Burn. With Burn it's more like he's done so well, he thinks 'I can do this' because he's been so dominant, then he doesn't and gets punished.

I dunno what the name for it is but Burn plays like an absolute superhero then seems to make a mistake because it maybe makes him think he's invincible
