  1. Carragher's by far the best pundit on there now purely by talking fairly obvious sense.
  2. According to some of the Bournemouth fans who've been on here, apparently it's one of his biggest strengths and did it year on year when they were coming up the leagues.
  3. Might sound a bit mad, but I think I'd prefer us to finish say 15th than 9th. We're absolutely not a top 10 team and getting there next season should be our motivation not expectation. Howe's done an amazing job, but I'm very confident he'd be a victim of his own success among some fans if we'd finished 9th this season then repeated it next season, much better that we get a realistic picture of where we are this season and manage our expectations based on that.
  4. If Ginola, Robert, and HBA got grief from the fucking clear it heeds, ASM will. Pay them no mind, if you rate him and think he deserves support, use your voice to be one of the people that gives him support.
  5. Sterling vs Targett was very similar to Sturridge vs José Enrique like, he had his number all afternoon.
  6. I always fancy us against Arsenal at home, but tbf, our season's over and we're playing against 4 teams desperately fighting for the league, champions league, and survival, so it's very possible.
  7. Meh, predicted 5-0, got 5-0. Beaten by the death of 1000 incredibly boring cuts by one of the best teams in Europe and met with mild applause. Would have liked us to have taken a couple of our chances, but we're still in a different league. Showcased by Targett who usually handles everyone no bother, but came up short today. Hopefully Liverpool win the league, Man City are incredibly boring to watch despite the likes of Foden and KDB being outstanding individual talents
  8. I feel like they're going to take everything out on us
  9. Doesn't he get called Fraudiola on the reg?
  10. Aye, I'm sure the polling on Putin coming out of Russia is completely legitimate and also not influenced by any propaganda. Even then his popularity is almost identical to Blair's when we invaded Iraq. Why is it that so many self identifying humanitarians make exceptions as soon as it's the civilian population of the evil dictator? Somehow deciding that they're simultaneously both brainwashed and all in on it? You see the same shit with China too, absolutely psychotic.
  11. All he said was that he respects it but it's not his type of football. Absolute fannies Keegan used to come out stuff like that all the time
  12. It's just the first big step towards manufacturers making kits with the lowest expenses possible. Testing the waters on what they can get away with on a 3rd kit and then going from there. For a 3rd kit, I must have seen them play in it at least 6 or 7 times this season. Identikits with club badges and sponsors within the kit design itself like some quayside knock-off will start creeping in. Guarantee they'll try and give it the saving the planet spin while charging the same amount as well.
  13. "I respect everything they do, it's just not for me" Wow, what a PRICK
  14. Worth bearing in mind that this went viral because fans up and down the country identified with it. Things that we, rightly or wrongly, associate with U.S sports and the American lads don't think are a big deal but we don't like and don't want.
  15. Well no, we collectively hate it and it's exactly this 'be an adult, 'it's a "you" problem' outlook about things we don't want that's so nauseating about it. We don't want that stuff, keep it and enjoy it and godspeed to you, but it's not for us, we hate it.
  16. Come on, you all know what the difference is. That Budweiser "you do the football, we'll do the beer" advert wouldn't have been able to parody it if it wasn't already widely known. You're all great at taking the piss out of yourselves on here, so it's always so funny when you go on the defensive when anyone else touches on it and it's over nothing.
  17. I've seen enough on T.V and experienced enough live football matches lurching towards that to know I don't like it. Why do you all get so defensive about it? We're allowed to not like things.
  18. Okay, now guess what the reasons usually given for the death of the game are? The very things we, rightly or wrongly, associate with U.S sports.
  19. Like I say, going on the defensive over nothing.
  20. Fan experience should have been in inverted commas, I was referring to Ian's post about the fan experience in the U.S
  21. This is exactly it though, a lot of the things you do well many people don't like or want, and consider them as things that would worsen the game and what it means to them to be a football fan.
  22. There's no difference, it's all part of the same stereotypical American hubris that you should be listened to because you do things best. It's actually mad how much that stereotype exists
  23. My guess would be that because purists already generally hate the day out style commercialisation of the game, they look at U.S Sports, see owners from the U.S come over here and shudder at the thought of that side of things getting worse and worse. U.S sports aren't as popular as football, that's no big deal, but I think it rubs people the wrong way when it's suggested that the world's most popular sport could "improve" by adopting aspects of less popular U.S sports, and U.S sports fans then feel the need to get on the defensive when it's mentioned. It tends to be very much a "you" (America) problem, that doesn't come from elsewhere.
