  1. There's something that doesn't add up in between the club's supposedly being in discussions and the bid being half the asking price.
  2. Think Trensa's right like. It's a step in the right direction but we're probably getting ahead of ourselves and it'll be like £37.5m in the end or something.
  3. Not only can you not have Botman, we're going to sign your precious Ben Arfa.
  4. Welcome to Aston Villa Diego Carlos!
  5. I see his form hasn't changed even slightly. Edit: Pléa, althought the same applies to Edwards
  6. Can't see Everton going on a run so bad that it would be worse than the bottom 4, let alone any of the bottom 3.
  7. I'm sure it's not like this, but if you go purely on how it's been reported, the whole Diego Carlos thing has gone like this. NUFC: We offer you £30m for Diego Carlos Sevilla: That's not enough, sorry. NUFC: Will you take €33.83m? Sevilla: That's just the same amount but in Euros NUFC: How about £28m? Sevilla: We'll consider it.....no that's not enough NUFC: We offer you £30m for Diego Carlos Sevilla: That's not enough, sorry. NUFC: Will you take €33.83m?
  8. Quote from V.I in the previous thread re Dembele. This was on 26 December when we were in a better position, with winnable games to play. If it's true I can't see how anything would change in our favour.
  9. Definitely the first time I've actually followed a transfer window since the whole Remy to QPR thing in 2013.
  10. Seems they definitely want to get a marquee signing in then. Seems unlikely in our position, but who knows. Sounds like they've gone after everyone
  11. The last day is always like another month's worth of activity condensed to within 24 hours, so I still think we'll get the players in, it's just the quality that's unknown and the real desperate need to get players for the games in the meantime.
  12. Beginning to think no one's going to sell anyone now, it's getting daft.
  13. ? Think it's probably like Diego Costa to Corinthians as well
  14. I'm definitely not comparing Keegan with Howe here, but the situations have some similarity in that we were a team in transition and it took a period of getting through shit results with improved performances to getting the results to go along with it. It clicked against Fulham at home and by the time we played Reading (still the best football I've seen Newcastle play since Keegan 1.0 - as pathetic as that is) we were fully off and running. The Sunderland 2-0 was about as comfortable and dominating a derby as I can think of, even the 5-1. Up until we properly got going, we had a run of 4 goals in 8 matches and 0 wins in 12, with a frontline of Owen, Viduka, and Martins.
  15. Also, we all remember the Rodgers Swansea team and the whole we won the passing meme. I seem to remember the Cisse 2 Swansea 0 match essentially being:
  16. All about perceptions as well, that Leicester match we looked all over the place, yet against Man United I felt like we dominated.
  17. @Trensamaybe you could answer this one mate. Does Diego Carlos make a lot of mistakes?
  18. Of those that would be a decent shout either for made up rumours or what we actually need I'm surprised to not have seen the likes of Torreira, Tolisso, Guendouzhi, Brozovic, Tchouameni, Kamara, Witsel, or Emre Can mentioned. Yes, I googled 'defensive midfielders'
  19. He has the most amount of individual errors leading to goals in la Liga but Sevilla also have the least amount of goals scored against. I'm all for it.
  20. It's right, but it's a data sample of 10, 5 of which were against the best teams in the league. Our possession against the rest has been higher whenever I've seen it.
  21. Passing on a slither of news, Andy Brassell who said Trippier to us was going to happen when it wasn't certain reckons that the Diego Carlos deal will happen because of the deal we've offered him. Not sure how that works if the club haven't agreed to it, but we'll see.
