It's £46m so not that insane or anything. Based on not much at all, I wouldn't go beyond £50m

Honestly chose this at the time because it had by far and away the best design and UI and it seemed the most active. All I remember of TT was some of them on there being snooty about SackPardew and AshleyOut, I'm sure most are sound though.

Reads the game and makes interceptions, but also has that brick wall element to him where he cuts out everything. Plays it nicely once he has it as well. I've watched Southampton maybe 3 or 4 times this season, against Villa, Brighton, Man City, and another I don't remember. I noticed him vs Villa because he played two short passes, blindly, back to his 'keeper. So I noticed him for doing that, but then after that he was fantastic, either cutting out, blocking, or tackling everything. He was in Shearer's TOTW for that match I remember. The other night against Man City it was a similar again where I noticed him cutting things out and making tackles.

Only just mentioned him yesterday. Every time I've seen him he's looked absolute quality for Southampton. Not sure I'd choose him over an established CL defender like, but I've only seen good things from him.

I would totally agree with everything said about patience being needed etc if Staveley hadn't said that the target is to win the PL in 5-10 years. If that's the target, then I think it's very hard to argue that appointments like this align with such a lofty target.

Eh, they've rejected the second loan offer?

Anyone know much about Bakker? @ponsaeliusmaybe? He looks really impressive just based on his YouTube highlights

Craig fucking Pawson was on VAR for that Jota pen. They couldn't make it any more obvious if they tried.

Is this PSG match a league match? There's like 800 people there

Wonder why Lloris doesn't bother trying to save that shot. He winds up then just watches it go in.

Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)

He did it like 4 or 5 times though, often just because he'd lost the ball. I don't mind a couple of times when it's shit decisions like the penalty, but it felt like he was doing it all the time yesterday, a couple of times while Leeds had the ball and were quickly going on the counter. -
Blows my mind that no matter the season, the players, or the manager, Arsenal continue to be the same club that drops points at home to seemingly every bottom quarter team except Newcastle. It's remarkable

Arsenal are going to do an Arsenal aren't they

Canny funny tbh. Scoring a goal and the first thing you do is call the people who love you and want to do well the most specky.
-
The only Messi comparison I can accept is that he has comparable natural talent for dribbling. Anything beyond that is just feeding the people who think the HBA fanboys are off their tits I think.

He supports Leyton Orient IIRC

Blink 182 syndrome, doing a song live so often that after a while the tempo's doubled.

I think Edwards either has the most blatant case of unconscious bias I've seen, or snooty antagonism is just a way for him to get people engaged. He might not even realise he's doing it, but he puts out pieces where the only consistent thread in them is that they contradict what fans are saying on Twitter - right down to him putting a positive story about being close to signings last week when fans were getting pissed off with the transfer window. Now we win and he's back to putting out Buzz Killington pieces about how they must do better. To me it doesn't matter whether his points have merit - anyone can make points that have merit and there'll be others making the same ones he is anyway - it's that I think he has an air of inauthenticity to what he says at best, and deliberate, outright hostility towards fans at worst. The narcissism, brain-dead stubbornness over Bruce/Rafa/Staveley, patronising tone, and complete denial of being the way he is are all byproducts that just turn me off him even more. Hans reckons he probably doesn't even watch football and he does often come across like that as well.

Didn't @ManDoonhave stats showing he has one of the lowest in the league? 0.4 per game or something? Maybe the truth's somewhere in the middle
-
What's the story behind Shelvey's celebration btw? Always thought it might be this, but looking at it now it's probably far too self-deprecating

Looking at it again I think I know what their reasoning will be. If you watch, ASM has his legs sweeped, but there's a moment after that but before he goes down where it looks like he has his footing sorted, before then losing it again. In real time I didn't think it was a pen, watching the replay it's a pen all day long, but I think that moment would have been their arbitrary (because it always fucking is) for not giving it.

Can honestly say I haven't seen a player with the same dribbling style and natural talent that he has in my life (Obv Messi, but it's not the same style as HBA). Players like that are unique. Similarly I've never seen another player with the same dribbling style as Beardsley. That's what we won't see again, rather than a player who's better. It's fine though, there'll be others and they'll be loved for who they rather than their similarity to HBA or anyone else.

Not with a court case hanging over him and only 18 months on his contract imo. Those things notwithstanding, he might be.
