  1. Re Bruno's red, it was mad, I went from thinking it was outrageous that it was even a freekick for a perfectly good tackle, then it just escalated every time I watched it to being like aye fair enough that's a free kick/yellow card/red card
  2. Pope: 8 Trippier: 7 Schär: 6.5 Botman: 7 Burn: 7 Bruno: 6 (8 without the red card) Joelinton: 7.5 Longstaff: 10 Willock: 6.5 (7.5 without that daft mistake) Wilson: 6.5 Almiron: 7 ASM: 6.5 Isak: 7 Murphy: 7
  3. Yeeeeeessss!!!! Made it more Newcastle-y than it needed to be, I think it's fair to say the crest of our wave in that match broke with the second goal, but Jesus Christ, think back to a year ago. Unbelievable.
  4. How about we just let people be justifiably nervous as well aye? Fucking hell
  5. You can feel the nerves in the crowd We should have this, just need to calm down a bit at times, we're playing some very good stuff and providing we don't shit ourselves more goals should come.
  6. That's goal of the season for me, the play between Joelinton and Willock was beautiful
  7. I'm so out of touch like, I had no idea Jamie Driscoll was a mayor now Edit: Ah I did I'm just an idiot
  8. Not sure tbh, his press is so scandalous.
  9. We both know things in football aren't as simple as that, or Merson
  10. From a 6? Even then, 2 goals 2 assists IIRC That midfield 3 were excellent from January onwards and we were wondering when Bruno was going to get a look in. Turns out when he did get a look in, it was predominantly over Willock. Suggesting he didn't contribute is just pure fantasy.
  11. Sad to hear you were in a coma from at least January to May 2022. Whatever you think of him, Howe rated him, played him, got a tune out of him, and if Bruno gets injured there's no one to fill in.
  12. Nowhere near as much of a disaster as it is without Shelvey. Last year the midfield thrived to the extent that we were wondering when Bruno was going to get a look in. Without Shelvey we literally have no replacement at all.
  13. Whatever you think of them as players I don't think you can consider Shelvey or Wood passengers. You can definitely argue that Wood has been replaced, but Shelvey hasn't and we were looking for a midfielder before we let him go. As things stand we're a midfield injury away from a huge drop off it quality. With Shelvey back fit the drop of was manageable.
  14. If that really is us done, then letting Shelvey go at this stage is seriously playing with fire in terms of targetting top 4 like. I don't think that's an unreasonable review of the situation.
  15. Yet they and Man City love working with Arsenal. Weird.
  16. Hadn't realised KDB was 31 like, time flies. I guess Maddison would be their KDB-lite although at 26 it doesn't give him tons of time to be the main man, if ever.
  17. One of the few occasions Jonathan Pearce was funny "Didier Drogba there. The strength of a bull, the pain threshold of a flea"
  18. He wants to mark his turf out, let them know he's dynamite. And when Longstaff's playing away, he'll piss and shit all night.
  19. Can't we all just...get along?
  20. Aye, I'm hoping for some tasteful back-lit lettering.
