  1. Interesting conflating of populations and governments into 'you' there.
  2. Absolute guttner for Fulham. Thought Issa Diop looked brilliant on Haaland
  3. We'd already lost 4 times by that point like. I feel like we've been brilliant for most of the season and shouldn't even have lost the one match that we have.
  4. It's probably that Neville has been more outspoken than most. His 'get them around the table' and 'highlight the issues' shtick is naivety at best and a weak excuse at worst. Lineker will likely excuse himself as well. Rules for thee not for me
  5. Absolutely massive in Papa New Guinea
  6. It should be a Newcastle clean sweep, but you can never tell when one of the juggernaut clubs is included and it turns into a 'who has the most online fans?' contest.
  7. That explains the funny looks I was getting.
  8. Yes, that's the point I'm making to you. That it's both of those things, not just one. Not just Ashley going. Not just the PIF becoming owners. Both of them. Your reasons for voting in favour of the takeover can be anything from 100% wanting it because you want rid of Ashley and 100% wanting it because you want the new owners, with every option in between. I'd be absolutely floored if there was even a single Newcastle fan whose reason for wanting the takeover was 0% to do with wanting rid of Ashley.
  9. Nah it's for visually impared people and it's not the sole reason, there are plenty of other reasons to as well, none of which exclude anyone. Being fully blind is different obviously, but there are ways to make things accessible that crucially don't exclude other people by doing so. That's the difference. Swearing might be excluding someone who if they're an adult, imo, need to get a grip, but if you stopped swearing from being allowed in stadiums you'd be excluding plenty of people in doing so. That's the difference. It's like the people who move in next to a music venue then petition to get it closed, it's exactly the same principle. You go to the match, you go in with your eyes open to an extent. And yes, of course I'd have a different attitude, as would most people I would hope. Unless you're equating swearwords with racist abuse, I dunno what you're getting at though.
  10. I can and I think most people do. I wouldn't count a football match as one of the places where you moderate it though.
  11. I can't remember us having a dominant period like this honestly since the start of 94/95 and 95/96
  12. I think you have more autonomy over whether you feel excluded by the use of language that comes with the territory and literally not being able to see something because you're blind like
  13. I don't get the connection? We have a family section so that people who don't like naughty words aren't excluded.
  14. This is exactly it. There's a family section for a reason.
  15. It's 2022. Anyone who's offended by 'swear words' is... Very easy to spin both ways.
  16. It still irks me thinking about the time I was calling Howard Webb a cunt and the old bloke in front of me randomly started having a go at me for it and saying it offended his wife. Without even thinking about it I apologised and it still annoys me that I didn't tell him and his wife to fuck off. One of those situations you think about in the shower and wish you could re-do.
  17. You have to be on the wind up. There's no way you read my post about it NOT being about one factor alone, but both, and then fired back with 'you're presuming it's about one factor' I hope for your sake that you're on the wind up or you just misread.
  18. You're also trying to claim this in a 'delighted Ashley has gone, but uncomfortable with Saudi ownership' thread Doesn't that tell you anything WM?
  19. Not tosh at all. You can't separate Ashley being involved and change all the meaning to suit your trademark 'everyone thinks like me' guesswork, mate. The new owners were just one part of a takeover. You never heard of pull and push factors like? You're effectively trying to claim that the pull factor (the new owners) was the only factor in all of this for supporters and that the push factor (Ashley) didn't factor in for anyone. It's just a basic fact that a vote for a takeover isn't ONLY a vote for the new owners for everyone.
  20. Yeah and being in favour of the takeover going ahead and being in favour of the owners is not the same thing. That's just a basic fact. You can't ignore the context, that we were all absolutely desperate to get rid of Ashley.
  21. Newcastle fans didn't 'vote in favour of these owners' they voted in favour of a takeover of these owners FROM Mike Ashley. Big difference
  22. Fulham 1 Villa Spurs Everton Fulham 2 Brentford
  23. Whitley Mag, at some point you need to stop leaning on this idea that you're John Everyman and everyone outside of here is the same as you like
