  1. That Martinez seems to consistently get decisions go his way with some pretty rough tackles like. There's been a few I've thought the ref would give a free kick against him and hasn't.
  2. Beye was much better than Debuchy imo.
  3. That's exactly it, they're a very weird team under Hassenhutl.
  4. It's embarrassing, especially considering how poor he's been in this match and his recent antics.
  5. We've won down there 3 times in 50 years in the league. I'm not ready to say they're not a bogey team

    Should be the 7th-and-above-ometer
  7. Kid Icarus

    Joelinton

For balance to some of the other replies, I couldn't agree more. ?
  8. By some distance. Cant speak for pre-1990ish, but in 20 or so games he's already surpassed everything Beye, Watson, Venison, Barton, Debuchy, Janmaat ever did both on and off the pitch in terms of quality and quantity. He's absolutely class, a leader, and is quite a few levels above the player that left Spurs.
  9. Honestly think one of Burn's strengths is how technical he is for a player of his size in his position. You can tell he's been playing for Brighton.
  10. It's probably an exaggeration borne out of me thinking Wilson doesn't get the plaudits and adulation that Ba got, when for me he's well clear of Ba as a centre forward.
  11. Can't wait to watch this again before bed tonight. The last half an hour especially.
  12. Away to them it's a very mixed bag. Until recently we hadn't won there since 2004. Just saying it's a big test without Joelinton
  13. I meant the title race. Nah, but playing away to a team we've historically struggled against without Joelinton? That's absolutely my litmus test. Football is chaos, we should never forget that. For every Spurs away there's a Bournemouth at home. I'm much more confident about Chelsea at home.

    Joelinton

That's the thing with Willock, I agree that he was one of our weaker players in a match of star performances, but he also did some very good things and was involved in 2 of our 4 goals. A bit sloppy and plenty to improve upon, but I can't think of a match this season where he's ever been anonymous.
  15. If we win this I'll be a true believer like. Going into the WC in or on the cusp of the top 4 should be massive ahead of January
  16. Willock, but he's closely followed by Joelinton and Schar. Similar to Joelinton I think a lot of what Willock does is maybe most appreciated when he's not there. He's nowhere near playing at his best yet the work he is doing is so important to the way we move from defence to attack. I also just really like the lad and really want to see him do well. Favourite obviously doesn't mean best though, our best are Bruno, Wilson and Trippier, and I love them too, along with most of the squad.
  17. I get that it's sparing Wood's blushes, but you have to include that passage of play like. My dad was around for the 2nd half. He's the most difficult man to please, more or less done with modern football because of how soft and rigged it is, rarely if ever gives much credit to Newcastle, so when he does it means a lot. After that move during the match he went 'Bloody hell, this is Newcastle!? That's not the Newcastle I'm used to seeing' Sounds like nowt but it's a big deal to hear that from someone as hard to please as my dad.
  18. Wilson was excellent so it's worthy of discussion but it was a great team performance so although if you're going to highlight a player it's either him or Joelinton, it should be all about the team

'Only 14 points' is funny at any point of the season, let alone after 13 games.
  20. I commend them in a way, it's made Miggy's upturn all the sweeter
  21. Met Steve Watson when he opened Keegan Park in Killingworth. He joined in a match with us and absolutely clowned the best players in my school, it was extremely eye opening
  22. Chuffed for Brighton like. Chelsea are a rancid club and I'm sure it annoys their fans that Potter left them for such perilous heights.
