  1. 34 days into a 78 day transfer window. Probably best to keep your conclusions until the end.
  2. Good shout. Loved seeing us score at Wembley.
  3. Same stand, same area, same feelings. I was standing on the seats ‘doing’ Hawaii 5-0 paddling as my brand new manager walked past, giving a wry smile and shake of his head ?
  4. Absolutely loved that. Thanks for posting ?
  5. Might explain the tardiness over Barnes, that is if a better option (probably involving the sale of Maxi) is now in reach.
  6. 48 days until the window closes. Buckle up.
  7. It might be that Barnes is lined up and all of the details sorted, but we are awaiting (a) getting an outgoing to a similar position; (b) a push at an alternative; (c) B needing A.
  8. Might it be your frenulum? (… which may be caused by you being right and ecstatic, or wrong and seeking alternate stimulation ?‍♂️).
  9. Har-vey Barrrr-nes, He’s never ever been to Blyth Har-vey Barrrr-nes, (… repeat until struck)
  10. Perhaps, stating the obvious, the decision makers saw something that you didn’t.
  11. It’s a tricky one. We do have to trim, but think it’ll be done in a gradual and respectful way. As obsessed as Eddie (funny, but I still pause/am not sure what name to use for him) is regarding results, he is very human and a large part of his excellent leadership is relationship based. If someone is giving their all, is fully engaged and a positive influence on the squad, as long as he feels they can contribute (and aren’t wasting their young years) then it would be necessity rather than ruthless pursuit of potentially better options which will determine who goes when.
  12. Shit… I’ve only gone and watched it. That left footed goal from the left, about halfway down, and outside the six yard box… just exquisite. Then he only goes and scores one from the same spot with his right foot. Added to the technical expertise to make seemingly impossible ‘van Basten stylee finishes’, his fluidity of movement, mesmerising feet, and beautiful touch would make him a pure joy to watch.
  13. I remember many thinking Botman was reserved/serious. Quite the opposite once he was settled/we saw more content.
  14. Can’t recall exactly, but pretty sure he said that against the odds, he played his first game two months later. Not sure whether it was a practice match/reserve game to begin to build match fitness. He also said, that nobody would give home a timeframe (surgeon or club medical staff) and inferred it was standard practice as (a) time to recover (which apparently doesn’t always happen) was so variable and (b) to counterbalance any demoralisation, if it was a big number. First bit is key point, it isn’t correct to state it is at least one year. It varies.
  15. Just going off his statement in his autobiography. I know it isn’t standard/usual, but point is there is variation in recovery time.
  16. It’s all a bit uncertain, but for context, not everyone takes a year. Pat Nevin—who was incredibly fit and dedicated to stay that way when injured— for example, took two months.
  17. Smiles, rather fetchingly, with his eyes. Not unlike my good self.
  18. Love it! Telefone Tocou Novamente by Jorge Ben (translates something like Phone rings again)
  19. It’s what we do! At least as far back as Chancel Mbemba ?‍♂️
