I would actually be really happy to sign him. A definite improvement still with room to improve. My preseason wish list (admittedly I had never heard of, or at best knew little about, some of the seemingly more exciting options—after a bit of ‘Wise’ scouting—we’ve since been linked with) was Phillips, Gallagher and Harrison. Didn’t have a favoured striker, until I watched Osimhen (obvs…).

Watching the reaction on film after the still, sounded to me as if the photographer (or whoever they are talking to) set it up. The willingness to involve ‘us’ in such pranks/jokiness is just the most wonderful illustration of the current relationship with the fanbase. I love it.

It’s hard to imagine they’ve replaced with the same quality after selling their two best players (potentially three) but perhaps they’ve brought in more players and have improved the overall squad/reduced the gap in quality in their squad. Guess we’ll see.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we signed someone like Zapata. We clearly need another striker, even if just for cover. Can’t remember last season’s stats, but he’s 31, couple of seasons in him, and has basically scored 1 in 2 in Serie A. I am assuming it depends on who else is really available to us and how much they are genuinely prepared to pay for alternatives or other positions. I guess there will be at least two first teamers coming in, probably three, and at least one of them will be a journeyman/‘right for now’ or loan.
