  1. Crap week thus far, need Liverpool to win 3-1 for a respectable total.
  2. Did do this (captaining). And just as well! Think he got half my total points.
  3. Leeds owner said Harrison definitely not leaving. Everton manger said Gordon definitely not leaving. I am only inclined to believe the former (unfortunately).
  4. Kante injured? Could scupper Gallagher move to anywhere). https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2022/08/15/everton-newcastle-could-miss-out-on-50m-target-after-major-chelsea-incident/
  5. I feel like having a good whinge, mind. Feel like we are close to a remarkable season. Hope the decision makers believe this too, want it now, and push the boat out in the next couple of weeks.
  6. If you give him a little time to have an influence on the training pitch, not just name on the door, plus the three January additions he presumably pushed for, it looks even better. Over the second half of the season/final 19 games only Liverpool and Man City outperformed us.
  7. Unfortunately they don’t know whether it is either.
  8. He’s aggressively progressive, is the simplest way to capture what I see in him. Courageous with and in chasing the ball. Final product has a way to improve, but he is one of the outstanding young PL players who would improve us. That said, can’t see how he would fit with Chelsea, not that it seems to matter to them (oddly) it’s like they are just on some crazy collecting players mission this summer.
  9. Nicky Butt? Combativeness and style rather than position (Butt was in a more holding role by the time he came to us—2nd time).

    Joe Willock

Not sure many feel that Murphy has shown enough to be a serious contender to start for us. Whereas, in patches I think Willock has. He is also 5 years younger than Murphy. I like the latter, but if a player is doing it by 27 I don’t think there is much chance of a significant improvement in the last third of his career.
  11. They’ve played him in the last two games as their central forward, because they’ve no other option presumably. That’s the only thing that makes me think they’d sell, ie they need to buy a centre forward. And soon. Still can’t see it mind, he’s Everton through and through and Lampard recently gave the fans assurances that he was not for sale. I think he would be a great acquisition, though would rank this buy behind signing Gallagher. And both behind signing a right sided forward come centre forward.
  12. Off to search for Dan Ashton’s estate agents from Gosforth ?
  13. Adding those two would massively enhance our squad. We’d have an absolutely top class central mid trio, and serious alternative to, competition for, Maxi. We’d ‘only’ still need an alternative to Wood—ideally young and able to play as a wide forward too—to be a genuine top six side with potential to grow.
  14. Stop the season now. That’ll do nicely.
  15. What went wrong with Bruno today? Didn’t see the whole game but from what I did see it was his worst match to date for us. Was it who he was up against? Lack of movement/options? Lack of time? Or just one of those days when everything is just a bit off?
