  1. Just call it Paul. Understated, nice anecdote to share, and not like you’re going to be shouting it across the playing field.
  2. Biggest ever away victory over Sunderland. Boro must be like prime, mid-60s, Milan! No, more like prime, mid-70s Munich! No, perhaps Man Utd in the late 90s were even better. They must be like them! Basically they must be frigging amazing to spank the Barca-esque, would-be-almost-certain-maulers of Milan and PSG, 4-0… 4-0, at their own ground. {peeks at the table}. Middlesbrough P10 W3 D2 L5 GD -5, before today. In the Championship… I don’t understand? How can this have happened?
  3. Amazing how many lines I knew from that sketch, whilst having no conscious memory of seeing it!
  4. Powerful poetic imagery ?
  5. Not sure if Antonio is fit. Bowen played up front midweek and looked terrific against us last time.
  6. Heard the audio, loved it!
  7. All this serious talk of sexism makes me think we need a laugh:
  8. Well your whole first paragraph makes sense as a general point, but isn’t relevant to what I said. Happy to consider that I see most things Keegan-related through rose tinted glasses, but I read his remarks as being more akin to not enjoying listening to Formula two/three drivers commenting on Formula one, as much as hearing from those who have, so to speak, driven the same tracks, rather than because of their gender per se. If that’s his preference/opinion then it is neither dumb nor sexist.
  9. The basic point he made, as far as I can tell, was that he personally doesn’t like listening to female ex-players talking about the English men’s team. Because they haven’t had the same experience as the players they are commenting on. Whilst ill-considered to express it in our current culture, I don’t see how you can call his preference ‘dumb’. Beyond the dated language, I also don’t personally think it is sexist. It is more the relative experience, because of their gender, of the individuals he is talking about which he sees as less preferable. It is possibly a throw back to the ex-pros originally being wheeled-out to add authenticity to the conversations about events in a match. Personally, it is more the insight shared in the analysis, or the personable or humorous way it is shared, which matters to me, not the level the person’s experience or gender. I don’t think less of someone for having different criteria/preferences. It is just, sadly, stupid to say anything that could be perceived as non-PC these days.
  10. Thanks man. Love hearing Ando now-used to get right on my tits.

There’s something about Ramsdale, age, attitude and competencies, which makes me think Howe would like him for us. He’s five years younger than Pope, which made me think that although we’re fine for keepers at the moment, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was our next one.
  12. Should be the Albert song after yesterday. Loses the humour (Rupert wise…) but that goal is the link.
  13. Must be pinching himself. Wins international tournament, gets rated player of that tournament, has fans singing his name every game, plays at San Siro, involved in a PL 8-0 City, beating Man City, and then last night. It’s only 9 months since he was being chased down/confronted by his own fans. What a re-birth!
  14. Anyone know who was there from PIF/the board last night?
  15. With you there brother. Didn’t have anywhere near enough Wor Birra left, worked my way through a range of old drinks including a couple of glasses of celebratory fizz!
  16. Both centre backs, stalwarts in the Championship, absolutely solid against an elite strike force. So proud of them and so pleased for them as individuals. Lascelles in particular has shown real class to stay as involved, positive and team-focussed while missing out and being written-off by many. Well he didn’t miss out last night… couldn’t be happier for him.
  17. Back to his best. Maybe PSG seemingly not having a plan to nullify him enabled him to influence the game in the way he consistently did in his first thirty games (or so) with us. Ignore at your peril.
  18. Can’t edit a small enough video, but here’s a still. It was a lovely moment.
  19. Can anyone find the image of that PSG lowlife who punched the lass during their (death) March to SJP?

Glad, you’re buzzing. Pity about your thinking skills. I said I thought he might be our next keeper. I didn’t specify the timeframe.
