Newcastle United 0-1 Borussia Dortmund (25/10/23)
Coffee_Johnny replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
Quite fancy us away to Dortmund; much more than at PSG. Eddie will want tactical revenge and he’s just the man to get it. -
Don’t know like, that’s a tough completion to win.

If you look at Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) for the former CCG areas (2019), public access online, Sunderland is 27th most deprived area (from 191). For comparison, the only ‘more deprived’ North East areas are South Tees at 26th. South Tyneside, 21st. Durham Dales, Easington & Sedgefield 19th. Some other notable areas with high deprivation in the North, include: Blackpool 2nd, Manchester 3rd, Liverpool 6th, and Salford 16th. Other North East areas with less deprivation than the above are Newcastle Gateshead at 55th, Hartlepool Stockton at 64th, Darlington at 76th, North Durham at 88th, North Tyneside 91st, and Northumberland the least deprived at 93rd (though still only creeping towards the top half of England as a whole).

I reckon even 11 points, from the next 7 games, keeps us on track for sixth. There are two ‘Tier 1’ teams (Arsenal and Man Utd) at home, two Tier 2 teams (Chelsea at home, Spurs away), two Tier 3 teams (Wolves and Bournemouth) away, and one Tier 4 (Everton) away. Anything more than that and we’re looking at/on track for an even higher finish than that.

We’re going to fuck them up badly (…this time) -
I’m curious as to why?

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)

Hope they’re not. -
Interested in your view on this, as someone who (I think) has a longer experience of NUFC than me. Which players/managers in our living memory would you see as having more of a positive impact on Newcastle?

This time next year, Rodders…

Just what the Qataris need, another white elephant football club.

I don’t think it is really working down the left hand side. Trips not overlapping, Rashford running into cul de sacs. Would like to see more triangular passing in and out middle to right. Need to rely on Foden more and get Walker running behind.

What an awful atmosphere at Wembley.

First England game I have watched (going to) in a while. Normally not that arsed, but we do have a great side (on paper). Hoping we’re set up correctly to get the best out of them.

We’d make him fall in love with football again; assuming he needs to.

Could be worse. Blackjack is the one casino game where you have a reasonable probability of winning.

Gutted I am travelling back from Wales that evening. Would have loved to go.
