Seems quite obvious now that he’s an idiot but clever enough to phrase his job description dumb enough so that football people get it. That whole centre of the wheel rubbish is just a way of saying he takes credit for other people’s work. Total weasel and his reputation is in tatters. I don’t even care about the compo at this point, he’s not going to improve Man Utd. He’ll just be privy to information that could damage us if others know our plans.. which he’s probably disclosed already.
-
Am I right in thinking Bayern sacked Tuchel, or said he’d be leaving, only to re-offer him the job which he then turned down?
-
Minteh is a weird one.. potential high value sale for someone we’ve never seen play for us. Based on his season, you’d have to say he’d be worth 20m+?
-
Possible re Dubs.. ?♂️ it depends on who needs what. If he chooses to go to Saudi we may get something. Howe publicly freezing him out like that though doesn’t strengthen our position for negotiation.
-
A guide price, Wilson doesn’t leave for less than 10m.. we get something for Dubs..
-
Ritchie out Minteh in Dummett out Tosin in Targett (5m) out Kelly in. Almiron (22m) out ? In Dubravka (4.5m) out ? In Karius out - promote youth Wilson (15m) out ? In I don’t think we need to sell any of the Crown Jewels. But we could potentially bring in 30-40m with those fringe players. That would pay for that Goalkeeper.. am guessing we’ll have a budget similar to last summer.. around 100m? a 40m winger and a 60m striker and we should be good. We’re stacked in midfield. But concerns about Willock.. will he be able to regain fitness?
-
Even if they tripled the fee we paid for him, still wouldn’t come close to what we’d need to spend to find someone remotely as good. He won’t be in a rush to go anywhere, he’s playing in a team that creates for him and we can still do better. Add a better right sided forward and we’re in good shape. I’d keep Murphy but Almiron can go at this stage, purple patch aside he’s largely ineffective.

Good shout that.. I had noticed a bit of a step back from the same level of involvement he had previously. Something just seems slightly off. Forget about the errors, any player can hit a patch of bad form.. he just doesn’t seem as happy. I suspect he’s the type of player who would just move on to the next thing fairly easily. Hes a pro and just does what’s best for himself first. He may have really wanted to join Bayern in January?

He won’t have applied for a job, approached by a broker or intermediary. A call arranged, which he’d do out of courtesy. Maybe they’ve had 2/3 conversations and he’s said he’d be looking for some assurances from his current employer before deciding anything. Impossible to know as the club do things professionally now. Howe was asked about it in an interview recently and said if they had to wait 12-18 months for the right person that’s what they would do.. that in itself was quite telling. They’re in no rush and the plans for the summer will be pretty much all but set in stone before Ashworth quit.

Need to start with the clear out. Who has kicked the last ball for us in a competitive match?
-
He’s pretty much universally liked here, loved maybe.. he’s not got that Keegan sentimentality that tugs at the heart strings so there’ll always be a sort of politeness/well spoken vibe with him. But as someone mentioned, you’d only swap him for a small handful of managers globally. And I’d echo that. I think though, the difference between him and that small handful of managers is the difference between doing really really well and then actually winning trophies. Am happy for him to continue and I hope he can address some of the issues that have plagued us this year. It’s a big summer coming up. I want to be proven wrong like.

Anderson serving some justice out there ?

Pope’s distribution is pure dogshit
-
I agree, you can tell he’s fed up.. been pissy with journos and pundits for ages now. Looks a man who needs a break. What next though. It wound certainly be a club but at what league? Italy maybe as he’s not conquered there yet?
-
Keep an eye on Rabiot. He’ll be talking to a number of clubs including us over the next few weeks. Another free although an expensive one.
-
We can’t be having that.. that’s like when Keane went to sign Robbie Savage and heard the “whatsuppppppp” voicemail.. never called him back
-
If Pope is on the bench then he’s not far off being match fit. Howe has that stupid loyalty thing.. “it’s Dubs place to lose now” etc.. it’s really stupid.
-
He’s made some howlers this season for sure but he’s also the glue that was keeping the side together. I think he’s realising that he’s not needed nearly as badly as he was before and the football player brain inside him is not happy at all about it. On current form there’s no way he’s getting in ahead of Walker or any number of young uns coming through. Whatever shit has been going on, maybe problems at home and maybe a messy divorce coming up. He’s not helped himself there. I don’t think he’s lost a step or anything, all his errors have been a lapse in concentration, things he should be so much better at.
-
I think they can let it be known that there’s a pre contract agreement. But he wouldn’t be able to officially sign until the day after his contract expires. *which is June 30
-
I think he’s under massive pressure right now. Getting Europe after all the injuries this season would have been impressive but to be in the driving seat with 3 games to go and to pick up 1 point from 6 against two teams we can and maybe should beat, it’s going to raise questions. They will stick with him but there’ll be a magnifying glass on him from the start of next season now.
-
True but that stadium was never built just for football. There’s also been a major disconnect between the owners and supporters there for a few years. I think if we moved there’d of course be a period where things are being figured out.. singing sections etc.. But would also be great if they designed in safe standing from the outset, I assume that’s going to continue to be brought in?
-
Look at Spurs last night. Widely accepted as the best ground currently in terms of a modern design but it was dead last night. No atmosphere at all. It’s the supporters who make it, or not as the case may be. So the whole thing of the stadium being our heart and soul is rubbish.. it’s the fans and it always has been. That’s why I wouldn’t be bothered at all if they moved to say the arena site. We’d bring that with us.
-
Hard to know but this year will obviously be much improved revenue’s over the previous, how much of that we can spend is anyone’s guess. I think we’ll need to sell, but rather than lose the Crown Jewels, it’ll be Wilson, Miggy, Murphy and maybe Longstaff and Dubravka who will move on. That’s maybe 60m+ there depending on where they go.

NUST are a lame duck now and have been pretty much since the takeover. We needed an advocate when Ashley was here, not that he listened but we were pretty much voiceless if not for them. But now, yes the club will make the odd mistake but social media has more sway in causing action than NUST do at this point. I just see all this shit as an exercise in trying to stay relevant and more certainly playing to a certain section of the support.
