  1. They had a spell where they looked like scoring and that’s what happened. We’ve been pretty well disciplined and it looks like we can hurt them if we relax a bit more on the ball and stick to basics. Annoyed at those yellows. It limits us. Keep AG on for a while though.. he’s the only one who can cope with their pace on our left side.
  2. We can mix it with these for sure. Played them away when we were in a dip last season yet still had a few chances on goal. Also noted that BoyleSports had us at 4/1 yesterday, now into 3’s

They don’t have to help us but it’s not like we’re mugging them.. it’s still a decent fee for a very young player.

Pure opportunism. There's no way Chelsea would be selling their best prospects unless they were strangled into it. It's still a lot of money but there's plenty of potential there. I also don't think we're done yet. A RCB will arrive too.

He kind of looks like what would happen if Eddie Howe and Matt Ritchie had a steroid baby together.

The transfer thread on the Liverpool forum is a very funny read.. the Premier League’s “flat earthers” The conspiracy is that we’re helping Chelsea out with their FFP by offering way over the odds for a “bang average player” ?
  7. Whataboutism. It’s not even in the same ball park, that comparison like. In recent times we’ve had players who have run afoul of johnny law.. Barton, Ranger spring to mind and especially the latter despite not being associated with the club in what must be 10+ years, gets NUFC named every time alongside every misdeed. You’re talking about an absolute entitled little creep here who couldn’t get that bint knocked up fast enough. I think he’s absolutely fair game for anyone to have an opinion on. Is it as bad as Adam Johnson? No probably not, but there’s no way he should have an opportunity to play at this level again. It’s mental that it’s even being discussed.
  8. The fact they still "haven't made a decision" makes them an absolute scummy club up there with the Mackems who also had full knowledge of AJ's actions while continuing to play him. It sends an awful message to young girls about where they stand when it comes to big business, at a time when womens football is improving massively. They're probably waiting for the womens world cup to be over so it won't be a linked story while female players/ex players are doing so much media currently.
  9. Clever in terms of finances. It'll all get lumped into to an overall pot in terms of stadium revenue so we'll never know exactly how much they're charging the Saudi's for it.
  10. So Chelsea have gotten Caceido and Lavia, just to spite Liverpool. Almost a billion spent on players and yet they’ll finish outside the top 4.
  11. 8 year contracts are mental in any case and am glad it isn’t catching on.
  12. Has anyone knocked up one of those YouTube vids showing every contribution yesterday? He really got his swagger on in second half. Pure intensity, athleticism and vision.
  13. He was far from shite today but not on peak form. We still slaughtered the opposition. Not a problem. To think this midfield can only get better….
  14. They’re one of the teams who can hurt us with pace. Could see Trippier on the bench. Murphy has looked extremely strong and fit all pre season. Howe rates him and rightly so
  15. Re: Kane The thing is the fee is fairly reasonable considering he’s an almost guaranteed 30 goal a season striker. You’d have thought the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea etc would be all over that but they haven’t been so what other options does he have? Spurs are a shitshow right now. Pointless him staying
  16. Very tough game this. The game at Villa last season was by far our worst performance of the season. They didn’t let us get going at all and hurt us continually with their pace. Emery being at the club is their Rafa moment and good luck to them, it’s a good feeling knowing someone capable is at the helm. For what they have I just feel like we’re a little bit ahead.. if we score early it could be a long evening for them. I think we start Joelinton, Bruno and Anderson in midfield and Gordon forward left.. bring on Barnes when they’re leggy. Bring on Tonali when we want to see it out. For as much as the win is important, Howe will be targeting the next game and the one after.. no way he’s going to show his full hand just yet.

    Jacob Murphy

Come on leaps and bounds, he looks right on it in terms of fitness as he did last season too. He’ll start a fair share of games but will mostly be a sub this year if we’re picking off strongest team “on paper”
  18. Some players just don’t react well to being out of the team, hits their confidence and they just accept their situation. I think Lascelles also falls into this category. Others will improve and force their way back in. I think maybe that’s what the manager is waiting for from Targett but he’s just too nice to make that impression.
  19. The boss constantly comments on liking players who can fill different positions. Yes this new lad can fill in for Tripps but he can also offer something further up on the right, can see him coming on for Almiron too.
  20. It’s the way of things.. look at Ticketmaster with their fucking “dynamic pricing” model. Charging over €900 for a vip ticket to Coldplay. Some chump will pay it and justify the whole thing. I don’t go to many games, certainly not as much as I’d like to. So when I do I don’t mind paying a bit extra to ensure I get one. But can also see why regular match goers would be pissed off too. They’ll repent soon.
  21. I’m annoyed reading the last few pages of this thread at a few of ye. Shitting on Bruno all of a sudden? Short fucking memories is all I have to say. Him and Isak are our best players currently. Irreplaceable. He hasn’t been on fire this pre season but so what.. he looked a little irritated against Brighton and it’s no wonder, having Craig fucking Hopelessness asking him questions about his future and contract before the game. We’re bloody lucky to have him. Remember that and remember we had a midfield of Jack Colback and Vurnon Anita not so long ago. Entitled little shites.
