  1. Fucking hell, what was she thinking
  2. Yeah, Gateshead is the fucking pits like. There aren't many other options than SJP
  3. Terrible quality streaming now mind. Looked good first half other than the shaky panning, looks like they're uploading via a modem now
  4. Yeah it looks really dead there, long way from the attendance for the game I watched with you from the terrace. The football was pretty wank last season as well of course, which won't have helped. What's the plan for Seaton Burn? Hadn't heard of that
  5. Ah right I wish they had changed somewhere different but fair enough
  6. This looks a lot like a 3G. Did they not have to leave Kingston Park because the league said everybody has to play on grass? Or just booted out by Red Bull?
  7. It's probably some sort of image stabilisation on the camera, looking at it. They should turn it off. Frame rate is fine when the camera is still, I reckon the jerkiness is coming from elsewhere
  8. Canny hit can't believe it wasn't cleared like
  9. Crack is that Bedlington Terriers are now West Allotment Reserves
  10. I reckon that's exactly what happened, although it was on the old put so there's maybe a subsidence issue
  11. Looks like Blyth Town are two down at home as well. Ah well, will result in more local games for us Northern League fans if nothing else, I guess. Haven't been to Spartans for decades.
  12. I think the issue is more them having been booted out of their ground by the council, as I remember. There's no issue with support, at least no more issue than other Northern League clubs have. Alnwick routinely get crowds under 100, other NL2 clubs get 20 or 30 max and get by. There was plenty of talk of shenanigans and impropriety for years, but it's a shame that it's gone this way. The drop to the Alliance would have been rough for them, 2PM kickoffs and no lights on a darkening evening in Scots Gap being biffed by Wallington is an experience (not sure of their results against Wallington tbf)

Jossy remembering the same as some of you lads at the end of this bit from SJP (I timestamped the start for full old stadium effect, but reflective Jossy is at 1:43:20) no idea what Bobby Charlton is doing there like

imo the only way to do it is to make it something that older fans no longer want to be part of. I would say you can get part way there by binning off the cosy familiar DJ and his terrible patter and tunes, by stopping policing people standing and by telling stewards to deal with complaints of bad language or aggressive behaviour more leniently. Nobody is going to do these things in 2025 though, unfortunately. Older fans as a whole are quiet but lucrative.

Aye, that sort of diabolical shit is why I gave up going. Not surprised to hear it's still present and correct. I'm amazed that the proportion of the crowd who only go because they expect constant television highlights entertainment haven't yet realised that's not how football works and they're wasting their money
  17. Nottingham Forest were always good for that sort of thing. Problem is they also turn folk into world beaters that we regret moving on

I have protonopia and pretty much no red perception at all. At a distance, a flat unlit red and black look very similar to me, I could never tell the shirts apart from the stands at SJP when they were allowed to wear red and white. Colourblind brainfart was my first thought given how great a goal it was

Aye this is the top and the bottom of it. It's such a sanitised experience now, so many reports on here of people standing and singing and bawling and cursing but getting shushed and told to sit down, not just by stewards but by other fans. Was happening when I still had my season ticket and that was 12 or 13 years ago now. If you're going to actively police and subdue an edgy atmosphere rather than trying to encourage it, then the only possible eventual outcome is St James Park c.2025 or probably more accurately Premier League c.2025. Only way to drive out those miserable old fans is to make it an experience that they don't want to be part of, but the club likes the money they spend too much to be really interested in replacing them with younger radgies.
  20. Neither side deserved it. One moment of quality from Newcastle decided it
  21. I wonder how a minutes silence will go Don't really do it any more I guess, should be ok minutes applause and cheayerin' instead
  22. Yeah that's sad, some grim memories for fans a bit older than me but a local lad playing at that level for his local team is the dream like. RIP
  23. Alnwick biffed 4-2 at Sunderland West End, another dismal 3G pitch at a hub with no fans except some bairns with a drum. The list of places I won't be bothering to go to next season is getting quite extensive now. Long as that's the only defeat on wearside this weekend
