  1. My shopping list for the summer currently providing we stay up, with some options in different positions. Basically 5 to go straight in to strengthen and a couple of youngsters with potential. CB Botman / Salisu / Carlos AM Paqueta / Raphina FWD Nunez / Isak DM Phillips / Haidara / Kamara LB Targett Carvalho / Brennan Johnson
  2. Hopefully he can help you put the mackems to the sword home and away next season.
  3. Fucking hell what a shit hole and bunch of backward cunts. Feel blessed to have been born on Tyneside and brought up black and white after watching that.
  4. His attempt leading to 4th goal is a bit special. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/18940/12545927/stevenage-0-4-bristol-rovers-visitors-continue-play-off-push-with-emphatic-win-at-league-two-strugglers
  5. Appreciate it’s not everyone’s favourite option but I like this site a lot. Massive potential to build something special there.
  6. It could look great next to the river and with new infrastructure built around it. It would be a spectacular sight for people arriving via train over the bridge and if we incorporated a big glass window behind one end, similar to some of these American stadiums you would have a stunning view of the bridges from inside the stadium. This is my preferred choice of site, but whether there’s enough land I don’t know.
  7. I’ve never seen anyone say Leazes Terrace should be demolished to be fair. The ideal scenario would be a land swap, with the stadium at Castle Leazes, then the current site turned into a park and Leazes Terrace opened up with views over park. There’s drawings of this and Leazes Terrace is massively improved as a result.
  8. Good article about how clubs are looking to expand or increase match day income. Even with our wealthy backers we need to consider FFP to compete. The mission statement from our new owners appears to be about being the best, unfortunately nothing about staying at an undeveloped St James ties in with that vision. I’ve got no doubt there’ll be many like you who don’t want to move, but a new stadium at Castle Leazes, or the arena site with maybe a big stand behind the goal like Spurs have would be pretty spectacular and may even have a better atmosphere if built well. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-10234693/Chelsea-Liverpool-City-Man-Uniteds-matchday-income-revealed-does-club-make.html
  9. Aye because they’re struggling to fill it. They do have tentative plans to extend the other end behind the goal at some point.
  10. It’s not about dick swinging, its about giving every fan young and old, who’s waited decades to finally see a competitive club having the chance to see matches in the flesh. You’d have a situation where young kids coming through could probably only attend meaningless cup ties, without much hope of ever seeing the big games. Who’s to say that lot down the road don’t pick up in 5 years time and kids in divided areas can actually get to see a live game by going there. As someone else correctly said earlier the average age of the match day crowd was growing older by the season under Keegan. It’s not healthy to lock out future generations, which will undoubtedly happen if we stay at an undeveloped St James. History is great but looking after the future is more important. This club has been weighed down by an unambitious owner for 14 years, the last thing we need is unambitious fans holding us back when our time has finally arrived.
  11. The notion that some folk would happily stay at St James even if we couldn’t expand just beggars belief. We’ve now got the most ambitious owners in world football, in what world are they going to be happy with the 8th or worse largest stadium in the country. As if these owners would sit by and allow Leeds, Everton and Chelsea to also expand higher than us. Some folk on here clearly belong in fucking Beamish and have the ambition of Steve Bruce.
  12. You think it compares with the facilities at Spurs and Arsenal ? If you cant upgrade/increase the east stand and gallowgate it will never be best in class.
  13. ‘Best in class in all respects’ I’m really not sure that would include the stadium if we remain at St Jame’s. I actually think it’s inevitable we’ll move and build a new stadium and I’d support whatever decision they made.
  14. Dear old Dolly Potter would be proud of that.
  15. I’m sure if they turned it into a club museum to house our incoming trophies, the majority of the city would turn a blind eye.
  16. Adidas club badges are different quality compared to ours. I’m not anti Castore, but think they need to sort badge and then getting rid of that shit sponsor will fix the rest.
  17. Does Leazes Terrace have to be kept as residential though ? The loss of light is only an issue if people are living there. If the club bought Leazes Terrace and came up with some crazy plan to incorporate it into the stadium that issue is surely resolved.
  18. Could Leazes terrace not be incorporated into a new East Stand development, basically purchase the building and incorporate it into the stand. Purchase and bulldoze the offices backing onto boot boy alley and hey presto we’ve got space for a new structure. Before anyone scoffs these people build city’s and if I remember correctly Leazes Terrace is currently Middle Eastern owned. My own preference is Castle Leazes or a spectacular stadium down by the riverside. We could create something for the ages with this backing and everyone in the stadium would have great sight lines. I’ve got no doubt St Jame’s would look better with an extended Gallowgate and East Stand, but I’m no fan of the current lop sidedness and wouldn’t thank you for a seat in level 7.
  19. It would be interesting to know if Woolsington was bought with club cash and siphoned off much like Strawberry place under Ashley. It’s hard to criticise Hall due to the great times we had, but there was undoubtedly many shady dealings such as ghost offices and factories charged to the club.
  20. Aye, that was the plan and sure the Halls still own Woolsington. Think it had fallen into disrepair and the finger was being pointed at them, not sure what it’s current state is.
  21. The training ground will most likely be on land out towards the airport. Think there’s a lot to be said for it being in a rural location away from the frenzy of the city, especially when looking at Leicesters new facility. The most exciting aspect of this club is that I don’t think anyone really knows how big we can become. There’s no doubt the potential is frightening and other clubs have every right to be worried.
  22. Meanwhile the best owners in football are lapping up life in the regions capital.
  23. Tremendous that, especially in the current climate of energy price rises. We’ve hit the jackpot with this lot, almost worth the 14 years of misery.
