I’ll champion this to the day it’s officially dead. I think what’s clear here is that the MP involvement is about transparency. The major fear im picking up on is that they’re worried the PL will try and dismiss this via a closed doors panel with no transparency. These lads are trying to keep the public pressure on, and as a fanbase we should be doing everything to support this. The clubs dead as a dodo if this doesn’t go through.

I’m hoping this is the scenario to, it would be hard to believe Saudi and Qatar are going to sign some peace pact whilst continuing to ban Bein and lobbying against the takeover. My only doubt is have Qatar happily paid over the odds as a thanks to the PL for blocking the takeover. The statement from Bein references the PL protecting rights, which clearly relates to the Saudis and piracy. After previously stating the next contract would be worth less, it’s a bit bizarre to pay over the odds in a 1 horse bidding race. Here’s hoping it’s the former but I don’t think anyone truly knows at this point.

This peace deal could be the key to unlocking the deal. I’m still not convinced though and think top 6 would still object regardless of resumption of Bein in Saudi. What I’d like to know at this point has this MENA contract been put out to tender, or is it more ammo in relation to collusion and corruption at the top of PL.

Hopefully the truth lies in this, and the wider peace settlement with Saudi Arabia has given Bein the confidence to bid big again. Remember Bein initially claimed they wouldn’t be matching previous amount they paid. The key here is not the Saudis not getting the contract as it doesn’t appear they’ve been in for it, but if Saudi start allowing Bein to broadcast again.

Yeah bit over the top the criticism of this lad, far bigger problems at the club. His regression is in line with other players who have now been coached for over a year by Bruce. For Longstaff you can also add St Maximum and Almiron. The only part I disagree with is that he needs a break, what he needs more than anything is games under a competent manager. I absolutely adore its lopsidedness and I'd hate to see us move away from SJP for most of the reasons listed by Haydn above. It's already architecturally imposing in its current location, fantastically so. I'll never understand this ravenous desire some people have for a brand new site. It's all pie in the sky stuff at the moment anyway, so in this little fantasy land I'd buy the Strawberry Place land back and expand over it in some way. Some sort of sloping design that meets with a renovated East Stand would be ideal. That’s the great thing though isn’t it we all like our own thing. I certainly wouldn’t want some soulless new bowl, however in this dreamland of a Saudi takeover I just think we could build something that would be the envy of everyone. The arena location would be a tremendous visual on the river and for people entering the city.

It’s certainly easy to dismiss these accounts, however similar to the RyanEMaine twitter account, they have no previous links to Newcastle and both reside in the big smoke. Yes treat with caution but it’s not beyond the realms people working in the financial and legal fields in London will have knowledge of things going on. I would certainly rather be able to read these things and make up my own mind, and if nothing else it gives us all something to talk about. Certainly some of these people who have abused the lad on twitter have a bolt loose and are taking matters to a ridiculous level of seriousness. We all want information that is why we read these threads so just enjoy it for what it is. Some information will be shite but for fucks sake let’s not give ourselves a coronary over it.

Unless they can move Leazes terrace brick by brick, I just can’t see how any ambitious owner could build something to match Spurs etc on our current site. As much as I love St James it is completely restricted in what we can do with it. Fifteen thousand people are stuck up in the gods with a debatable view and it currently looks like 2 separate stadiums stuck together. A new purpose built facility at the arena site with great sight lines for everyone, a large single tier stand behind one of the goals, better acoustics, stands closer to the pitch, better hospitality and something architecturally imposing and striking as visitors enter the city would be far superior to St Jame’s.
