  1. Unless you are suggesting that Period One people should not have got tickets, I'm not really sure what your point is here. I don't care if members jumped on the bandwagon or not. I would guess that some did and some did not. Those that gave up tickets because of Ashley...I applaud their actions, but then they got them back now we're owned by the Saudi state, so I'm not quite ready to give them an unopposed moral platform just yet. All of which doesn't really matter. The point is that nobody without a season ticket should have got tickets ahead of season ticket holders. Newcastle have roughly thirty thousand tickets and thirty thousand season ticket holders. In the entire history of cup final allocations across the entire country, I don't think that this has ever been a remotely controversial stance.
  2. Hope this isn’t being cheeky, but if you could drop the odd update in here about what bars you’re in before the game, I might have a wander along for a drink
  3. Thought it was interesting hearing him talk about Gazza. He’s obviously incredibly fond of him but didn’t seem overly enamoured of him as a player
  4. Fuck off with ‘broadly speaking…’ If there was a fair system in use, why not use it for everybody. I’m going to stop posting about this. Well done to everybody who got tickets.
  5. P4, didn’t get one in the ballot. I did go to league cup games just didn’t use my ticket to do it. So the pots were just drawn together, I assume? Let’s hope we get to many more and work on a fairer way of doing things in future
  6. Pod on the Tyne has four thirty minutes interviews recorded with Bobby Robson as he worked on his final autobiography. He’s presumably very ill at the time but as enthusiastic and as bubbly as ever. Definitely worth a listen
  7. Yeah, I used to enjoy United We Stand, and True Faith just felt like an embarrassing tribute act most of the time. Seemed to be claiming an identity for Newcastle that did not chime with my experience at all.
  8. The trust did a video thing last night. Was there any more information on how the ballots are going to be done?
  9. Blue moon were banging on about a ‘hateful nine’ this week as well. Was going to ask what they were talking about
  10. The difference from three to four is one game. That’s vastly different from the gap between four and six
  11. Seem to remember Sunderland donated theirs to our fans in 98, didn’t they? Canny gesture, and something that should have caught on
  12. Don’t think you’re given the option. As I understood the email, you put in your supporter details and your bank details, and if you’re lucky a seat is assigned for you
  13. Not sure why this would so hard to get out of the club. Seems like they played that initial email deliberately ambiguous.
  14. Well, to have the discussion, people who kept on their ticket after Rafa left probably did it because they just go to the match whatever. Lots of people are apolitical in general, lots of people encounter politics a lot in their daily lives and like to keep football as purely a recreational thing. I don’t see that as any more questionable than people who decided to stick it then but want to come back now that we’re owned by morally reprehensible people with pots of cash. (I have no doubt that people on this forum that actively campaigned against Ashley would be back whoever bought it, but does that extend to the wider fanbase? I have asked the question before: Say we got some hedge fund dude, or some Serbian businessman without a Wikipedia page, would the queue for season tickets last June have been at the thirty thousand people it was? What if we had been relegated?) Put another way: What about somebody who had their season ticket for thirty years, up until 2021, but didn’t want to keep it because of issues with our new owners. Could you not argue they deserve their day out at Wembley?
  15. Am I being thick, or is there still seats left in all the coloured areas?
  16. Well, the Ashley thing is what it is is, so I accept it clouds the issue here. But it’s not a silly idea otherwise, and pretty much every club bases their allocation of cup final tickets on the basis that season ticket holders deserve first go at getting them.
  17. Yeah, except it’s completely unfair that somebody without a season ticket who attended one cup game gets a ticket ahead of a season ticket holder who went to two. The only excuse for a system that ends up in that happening is laziness, frankly.
  18. “Ticket sales have been split into separate priority periods based on eligibility criteria automatically contained within your club ticketing account for this match.“ Glad they finally cleared that up.
