Impressed with Villa but I expect nothing less with a coach like Emery. There's a reason Emery and Howe play similar football and like similar players. It's also a reason why our management were after him. I believe that if we wanted Diaby, we would have got him. But risk taking for us right now is a little different than Villa due to FFP. We can't spunk 60m on a RW that plays in the german league if there is a winger in the UK who has very similar stats to him but has been doing it in a harder league! I'm sure we looked at him and I'm sure we rate him highly but there's risk with any player coming from the german league and we already have Tonali to bed in. Diaby could flop or he could fly... Who knows..he hasn't lit up the French national team yet so perhaps we weren't willing to take the risk on him because we are so tight with FFP. Villa have much more wiggle room on us. Excited to see how he does though but I think Barnes will be out of the blocks faster.

I like the fact that even though others were interested, West Ham for instance, he definitely wanted to come here above all else. Always liked Barnes, think he'll be a great addition. Plus he's another looker!

I think this is what I thought. It's not as if he's 'past it', he's done very well for city and an important cog but as someone mentioned they are ruthless. Mahrez would do a great job for us on the RW - I'd snap your hands off. Just so much talent they have... Almost impossible to catch. Almost.

I think it's hilarious that our righteous Liverpool FC are now embroiled and could be funded by Saudi money. I've had a look at RAWK and it's classic. Both the Henderson and Transfer threads are locked because it's too heated. For so long they called us hypocrites etc etc. It's not ideal being owned by the state and I am uncomfortable but tbh, if I got up in arms about every unethical thing going on, I'd not leave my home. You only have to look at big Pharma and the food industry to know how corrupt the world is and I for one want to enjoy it for what is left and stop worrying about being politically correct.

Would bloody love Chiesa here. Anyone would take a year to get back up to speed after an ACL. Worst injury you can have in football in my book. My girlfriend's Italian and she might actually be finally interested in watching Newcastle play if we have two Italian players! She loves Chiesa too. I just remember him when he played for Italy in the Euros and his pressing was relentless. If he can get that back, he'd be world-class.

I have zerO toon players though unless we sign someone in the next two months who qualifies. Thought about an alphabet soup team in which you can't have players who start with same letter etc. But that was a bit too easy.

We will have dangerous people all over the pitch soon who can hurt other teams and they won't triple mark him anymore. He will thrive on that. He's actually been very dangerous for us, just our players don't put their chances away. He could be on 10 assists last season!
