According to whatever site i've just looked at, Willock has 2 goals and 2 assists this season, in a team challenging for Champions League places. Gordon has 3 goals and 0 assists in a team rooted to the bottom of the table. It's hardly chasm between them. All of Willock's stats are skewed by that one purple patch he had when he first joined the club. And if you take it purely on stats, you ignore all of the things he didn't do when he should've, like score two goals last night and bag an assist as well (the things you see with your eyes). Stats only explain part of the picture. If Willock added end product to his game, he'd finish every season with goals and stats in double figures. There's a reason he doesn't. I should add that I don't dislike Willock by the way, we just need better. We also have a guy sat on the bench who terrifies defenders and will get double figures if he's ever allowed to start.

The same can be said for Adama Traore in every game he's ever played

Gordon scores and creates goals. That's my whole point. Willock does the hard work and then more often than not, fails to finish it off with something meaningful.

Willock with clinical end product is a £60m + player. Willock at the moment is probably worth exactly what we paid for him. Personally, I think he’s too old to develop much more beyond where he is now but I’d love to be proven wrong. He’s a great squad member and does a lot of hard work but we need better if we’re aiming for the top honours.

Maxi and Isak have to start games. We’re so much better with them in the team.

I’ve never seen such a massive team offer so little threat in the air. We might as well not put the ball in the box and find something else to do instead. It’s my only major complaint with us as a team at the moment.

Gordon was a £50m target for Chelsea last season and given our scouting prowess to-date, there must be more to the lad than we've seen. Our exec team are too pragmatic to spunk £40m on a risky signing. He is a minger, there's no doubt about that, and he wears some God awful clobber but Eddie has more than enough credit in the bank for me to question his judgement.

By purple patch I mean he’s gone from scoring worldies every game to not scoring. He’s getting closed down a lot quicker, which should leave space elsewhere but I just don’t think we’ve got the guile and creativity to exploit it at the moment. Our inability to score from corners despite towering over most teams leaves us pretty short of ideas at the moment

With no ASM in the starting lineup and Miggy’s purple patch coming to an end we just look a bit toothless around the box. Time to make some changes and some signings, Eddie
