Said he thought the time was right for him to move in a management role somewhere and that if he stayed on, he'd be misleading the club in terms of what he wanted to be doing.

I'll be totally honest, before Terry joined us as a player, I hated him, like all non Chelsea fans do. For obvious reasons.

But in the time he spent playing with us in the Championship, he was absolutely magnificent - yes, of course he was the best centre half in the league, but he was a leader, and his attitude was absolutely spot on, when a lot of players in his position would have just come for a final pay cheque. You saw from his attitude alone why he had had such an incredible career as a player.

He will always be about Chelsea, but he absolutely gave the club nothing but respect, and totally won over a cynical fan base.

When he then went into a coaching role, he got the defence playing extremely well, and was clearly a belts-and-braces coach - ie, totally in. No half measures.

I am aware of all the arguments to the contrary in terms of his character and the shagging and racism stuff but he showed in a single year playing for us, the difference between the top clubs and the way their players are, and the rest of us.

 Sounds like he has great credentials for a management role then.

He also seems to have quite a bit of loyalty and standards in playing/coaching football, which is quite ironic when you consider his personal life.

That's alright man, I hate my mother in law but I still love the Mrs.

If you end up with Gerrard, I’d expect that to end up in a relegation battle.

Why did Terry leave, by the way? Didn’t even notice that happen.

  3. Is Rodgers even that good?

His teams seem to completely collapse at the end of the season. Liverpool failing to win the league and Leicester twice missing out on the top four.

FA Cup win was good and he did well with Celtic, but also seems to have a lot of limitations. They’ve been crap this season and could end up limping out of Europa League for the second season soon too.

Southampton only getting 7 points from the next 27 games, aye that will be right

The poor fuckers aren’t going to win any games this season, despite already winning three.

See they're getting a hard on based on a twitter account saying PIF are buying Inter. Said twitter account only started a month ago and has about 400 followers made up of nobody's. Broken, totally broken

A self proclaimed “transfer specialist” with a gmail account

The same chap who according to his twitter, two weeks ago said the rumours of Emery to Newcastle were false, but then had to backtrack when we were interested.

He also said Conte wasn’t going to return to management until next summer.

RTG are very excited by it all though. Not sure why, according to them we’ll never be in Europe, so why would it matter?

Rodgers to Man U is getting a lot of media coverage, there’s supposedly a verbal agreement in place for him to take over, the question is when

If we start taking “CaughtOffside” as a reliable source…

Do you really believe all this obvious trouble-making F A K E news?

Now you’ve spoken on the matter, I wouldn’t believe anything else.

  8. Currently playing for Colne in the Northern Premier League Divison One West at the age of 37.

They’re 10th in the league, he was their man of the match in their game the other week after having to go in goal for 50 minutes.

  9. He’s really likeable and I wouldn’t be adverse to him growing with us, if it goes well.

First benchmark this year is survival and then growth every season would be fine by me.

  10. Probably a good coach, appears to be highly thought of by absolutely everyone - but he’s a crap manager based on his team selections and tactics.

We got two points but that was mainly due to the opposition being poor rather than us playing well.

There are numerous examples of coaches/assistant managers failing as managers, he’s not an exception.

If he sticks around I don’t see it as a problem at all, seems a decent bloke and talks well too. But thankfully he’ll not be in charge for the next match.

He was our best player last night in his cameo for me, that says it all…

He’s been one of our best players for a few weeks now, as you say, which tells it’s own story.

There’s definitely a player in there imo. Will be intrigued to see how Howe uses him and how he performs.

    Leeds losing

Starting to look more and more like relegation candidates. They’ve been all over Leicester and are somehow losing.

Edit - ruled out but may still end up being the case if they fail to win.
