Completely agree - but several on here are desperate to convince themselves it was his agent/Reims/anyone else stopping him from coming.

Goes to show the strength of his feelings for PSG rather than us, imo. Reims would’ve been much better off with our deal but they’ve clearly stood by him and let him have the move he wanted.

He turned us down in January, it’s probably not that surprising that he didn’t want to be here. More our own fault for chasing him all this time.

He’s clearly quite far down the spectrum, it’s not easy to hate him on that basis.

It was noticeable in the latter part of last season too. His execution was just not very good at times. He’s clearly getting decent coaching and being told what he needs to do to improve, hope he builds on it.

I’d give him a year at a Championship team where he’d have quite decent assurances of playing regularly. His only first team football so far has been half a season in League Two, he’d benefit from playing a full season at a better level. Sitting on our bench won’t develop him at all.

Another player who has gone from a promising youngster to pissed up murderer because he did not sign. At least Botman was just slower than Saturn’s orbit when that deal looked in doubt.

Seems like a really good appointment, pleased with that. Moving in the right direction. Feel like this year will be a huge amount of work on and off the pitch.

I don’t think it’s necessarily about us specifically chasing a creative midfielder, I just think we’re open to any player who is available and improve us. Eriksen and Tielemans fit both of that criteria. An improvement and readily available.
