He was shrugging his shoulders, it was like ok, there I said it, no big deal. I think people are making more of it than necessary.
Absolutely this. Imagine getting your knickers in a twist about that

Yeah of course but his previous level suggests he won't.
But I will fully admit I was wrong if he scores more than 10 goals.
143 goals in 298 appearances across his entire club career. Don’t get many 1 in 2 strikers, especially when for a season and a half he was a bit-part player for us under Rafa.
Include his international career and it’s even better.
A proven goalscorer who has consistently scored goals across his career at different levels. One bad season in a minging Fulham team the exception rather than the norm.

Barca have a right fetish for buying shit players at the moment.

Only Mags hound owners out IIRC.

Mate of mine (mackem at work but 100% class bloke) picked this to take his bairn to his first away game
It's the sort of thing that'd put a kid off football for life, or at least off Sunderland for life

Apparently Bolton’s manager has gone into the Sunderland dressing room, told them they are a credit to the league trying to play the right way and gave them fist bumps.
True story.
Bolton fan is peace almost certain to appear tonight.

Has to be the worst ever league result by one of the North-East’s big 3?
It’s definitely the worst ever League One result, I can guarantee that.

Neil HAULED off after 50 minutes for being shite.
£30m?
-
Shame they’ve got three really easy games coming up against teams in and around the relegation zone.
Would be hilarious if they fell out of the playoffs altogether.

What is the highest number of deals one club has done on deadline day?

How do we know that it has anything to do with wages though? Right now Aston Villa is in a much better position to attract players.
It was reported by at least two journos (Hope and one of the Sky lot IIRC) that we didn’t even go in for them because of the wages.

You think those 2 are world class ? They aren’t even close.
And Bale and PEA are?
We aren’t signing anyone ‘world class’. One for the reason I’ve already mentioned, secondly because they wouldn’t come with our position.
Any signings would be in the Botman, Carlos, Bruno sort of area. Which is fantastic for us, obviously. I suspect we may end up trying again for Carlos, if anything.

Who says we are ? We are talking completely hypothetical situation. Don’t believe the wage thins either, if someone truly works class was available and wanted to join you think we wouldn’t pay the wage ?
Well, those two were available and we wouldn’t.

I’d still take Auba or Bale for 6 months mind.
How are we going to sign one of those when we wouldn’t pay the wages for Coutinho or Digne because Howe doesn’t want to unsettle the squad?

Why did he turn us down? Was it the relegation fight?

Bit like describing a deal as “dead”….”but could still happen”, I suppose….
Seems quite dead, tbf.

Not exactly fishing, like. “Surprise” surely means something either not yet reported or something really big? If it doesn’t, then criticise away.
Bale was the first thought that crossed my mind, sounds like he’s bezzie mates with Trippier.
But it’s widely reported already the consortium have been in the market for a big name or big purchase.
I’d feel fairly confident in predicting we’ll attempt something big. Doesn’t mean I have a clue.
“If it all goes to plan”. A great get-out clause.
And of course not falling in line attracts loads of nibbles.

The typical completely vague ITK statement, which any signing on Monday could be put forward as
We’ve gone from being able to name the 11 players on the pitch to… “be prepared for a signing on Monday for the richest club in the world who are well known to be desperate to make signings”.
?

Why are they so determined to have the consortium removed if they are so insistent the takeover will be terrible for us?

He's got no fucking credentials whatsoever, and I can't stand the bloke. Next weekend will be the most I've wanted Newcastle to win a game in close to ten years.
Two jobs, two failures, but still touted for every top job going.
Maybe he’ll be the new-style Bruce.

If Origi is available at £10m we’d be foolish to not be all over that.

Ah right, great point tbf. His first ever season of PL football in a team destined for relegation under McClaren and the shit bastard only got 9 goals.
May as well write him off for the rest of his career. Makes all those other goals he score count for none.
