Trouble is, until a conviction is achieved, she's not legally a victim, so accusing people of victim blame, whilst a perfectly natural emotional response, is a little premature.

Wrong. The Police and CPS both refer to the person(s) as a victim prior to a conviction.

Claimant is in relation to a civil case, not criminal.

Young men who makes a lot of money too fast who thinks they're on top of the world, unstopable and can do whatever they will.

They’re not all young though, are they? Sigurdsson and Giggs, as an example.

I agree about the power part, clearly an issue and can’t imagine they’re used to hearing the word “no”.

It’s not just footballers though - if people have TikTok, the live videos are horrendous, men just pouring over young girls and asking for them to flash or do bizarre requests. Fuck knows how it gets addressed because it’s such a significant problem these days.

    Something needs to change somewhere.

When this story came out at the end of 2020 there were rumours flying around it was Greenwood, with details like the age of the girl involved, a story about how he took her phone off her and wouldn't let her leave or call anyone etc. He was out of the next match due to "personal reasons" and people said that was just a cover. Then he came back into the team (and there was maybe something else, like Man United issuing a denail?) so it looked like it was all bollocks. Was it ever revealed who this player was?

Rumours about this being Greenwood are gathering quite a lot of pace.

If this is true and it turns out it was him, the FA need to look at how clubs respond to accusations like these with the mackems and now Man Utd… and why we have so many sick fucks in football in the first place.

Greenwood arrested for rape and assault. Absolutely no one’s fault but his.

    Statement from the lasses’ dad:

Sounds like a really clear case of domestic violence and controlling behaviour. Hope he gets the book thrown at him.

Slightly worried that both Jacobs and Edwards have said we’re hoping for one or two more (Burn being one of those).

Scenes at Derby. Injury time equaliser. Both offside AND dangerous play but given anyway

On the face of it, they deserve it - should’ve had a pen anyway earlier in the game.

Just goes to remind me how good football is without VAR. Imagine some cretin at St George’s Park ruling that out after them scenes man.

No, you're absolutely right, the victim is never to blame for the actual act of violence against them, I think what @TRon is trying to say is that she didn't have to stay in the situation she was in that lead to repeated long term abuse, if that's the case.

Even when you try and explain yourself you’re just a fucking idiot.

Do you understand how manipulative and controlling behaviour works? It’s not as simple as walking away.

Honestly this thread needs locking, some of these opinions are fucking disgusting.

Why should I when that's not what I said?

“No it doesn't, and he'll rightly go to jail for it if or when he's found guilty. But she has to take some responsibility for her choices as well, she's not a child. When some dickhead starts telling her she wants daddy dick, that should be a red flag, she doesn't have to say yes.”

    Is that not your post?

  9. Just now, Armchair Pundit said:

Well he does kind of have a point, people always have a choice, no matter how difficult. That's not to say she's to blame, but more that a large section of society these days tends to lean on everything always being someone else's fault and never taking any responsibility for the situations they find themselves in at all. That said, it doesn't give abusive scumbags the right to manipulate the weak willed, they should still be hammered as they're equally to blame for their own actions.

Fuck me some people on this place.

    ”The weak willed”.

  10. 6 minutes ago, TRon said:

Well that makes a difference. I assumed when he said Daddy dick he was referring to actual father/daughter relationship. My bad.

Sorry - but what difference does that make to your post saying the victim must take some responsibility?

Can you explain to me what behaviour a victim can ever demonstrate that justifies domestic violence or sexual assault?

Not enough :anguish: for this post.

    Rancid on so many levels.

Everything was pointing to us signing 2 marquee cb’s this month so would be slightly surprised if they didn’t try to throw a Hail Mary bid in for a big name (which I would imagine would be rejected anyway  )

I think we’ll go back in with either Botman or Carlos, would be surprised if it comes off though.

                                Wood

Will prolly be Lascelles over Schar like.

Still so weak at CB, DM, RW and Striker.

Need at least two of those addressing imo. Priority for me would be a CB and DM as long as Wilson comes back we’ll be alright.

A long-term injury to Wilson and we’re in trouble though.

These cases take a long time, do you seriously believe CPS is going to invest their resources only to drop everything because the victim changes their mind, at the last minute?

I can assure you, they do. There are many, many cases every day that are dropped throughout the process but prior to trial.

Including where the victim hasn’t disclosed something that casts too much doubt on the case. Even in those cases, there is no charges put.

Although I don’t doubt some dodgy cop somewhere may threaten something like that as it’s not inconceivable to realise there are some bad apples. Reality is, they’d never get a charge.
