This. We've seen enough windows under the new owners now to all come to the conclusion that no one in the media has a clue about what's going on behind the scenes at the club

Fucking hell, just been in the US Politics thread and seen that Trump is in hospital and then come here and see this! This is turning out to be quite the evening! Ha, get it right fucking up yas! Is too much to ask of the football Gods to make them fumble the league too?

Oi! That's our future £40m CB you're talking about there! But aye, he's pish

I think he would've been good here and there's no doubt he's a great player if a little unpolished. But make no mistake, the kid seems like an absolute weapons-grade whopper, I don't think I could warm to him. The best comparison is probably Osula. He's a bit of a rocket but he's pretty wholesome and goofy, just like your hyperactive kid nephew who doesn't have a bed time and has Haribo for dinner. Ekitike on the other hand seems a bit of an unhinged gimp.

If we get Europa/Conference League, I'd be keeping him around. We'll need depth and we're gonna have a huge amount of turnover this summer, keeping some guys who are content not being first pick every week will be useful

The catalyst, in that window we were getting pied off and laughed out the room by mediocre players, but he backed his own abilities, believed in Eddie and the club and will go down as the most pivotal signing we've ever made. A colossus on the pitch and role model in the dressing room, he'll go down as a legend. Father time as caught up with him and now is a good time to ride off into the sunset, but it's been a pleasure having him round here.

I hate what they're doing to the world cup, but to be honest if you're going to bloat the tournament you might as well have it so that 2 teams qualify from each group and do away with this shitey best 3rd placed team qualifies nonsense. The problem is that they won't stop at 64 teams, they'll keep going until you have groups comprising of Gondor, Atlantis, Westeros and Planet Zog

It looks like a quagmire of dross. Although to be fair the games involving 2 pish teams can sometimes end up being fun. Forget tuning in for Spain, France or Brazil, I'm clearing my diary for Ecuador vs Curacao

Absolutely no need for there to be 3 host nations spread across a vast continent btw

West Ham are that fucking useless I don't think Spurs will need to pull too many rabbits out of the hat to survive. Hiring De Zerbi will end in tears for them next season though in one way or another, they probably won't go down, but they'll still be a banter club

Sounds good. I used to follow Whitley home and away back in 07-14ish and I remember during the era we won the 3 Vases in a row we couldn't lay a glove on Spenny in the league but they didn't want to be promoted until they had a sustained period of success and were sound financially. A lot of Bay fans were also happy to stay in the NL cause the cost of promotion would've been crippling, I think our derby would've been against Whitby! But yeah, looking at the team in the next 2 divisions up it's a lot more NE friendly

That certainly plausible, I'd be astonished if the true reason for expanding the tournament was because FIFA genuinely thought this was absolutely the best way to improve the sporting competition and wasn't something as cynical as 'get more teams, get more viewers and we get more money'. The populations of India and China alone account for just over a third of the world's population, FIFA will be sick of not being able to fully capitalise on that. That before we mentiom other nations in Asia with huge populations like Pakistan, Indonesia, Bangladesh. Although hilariously it looks like Jordan, Uzbekistan and possibly Iraq have taken the extra spots allocated to Asia 😆

It's been a while since I followed the Northern League properly, what's the deal with the play offs? From what I remember Northern League chanpions would often decline the chance of promotion due to finances, meanwhile if there was a team who did want to step up, they could as long as the champions turned down promotion (I think Durham or Blue Star went up despite finishing 11th or something back in 2008ish?) So now is it mandatory for the league winners to go up plus the play off winner?

An hour gone and it's still 0-0 between fatty boom boom's Dr. Congo and Isaac Hayden's Jamaica. I hope Jamaica win, cause I know that's what Ainsley Harriott would want.

Of course the only times Italy haven't been a complete shitshow in the past 20 years is Euro 2020 & 2012 where they dumped England out both times.

Wait until they find out that St James Park is an 8 minute walk from Grey's Monument, so by their reckoning, it's technically not even part of Newcastle but a part of Leazes/Arthur's Hill. Yet more evidence of the Magification of the North East!
-
It looks like it'll be De Zerbi. He'll get them over the line this season, but the guy is a fucking rocket, so next year they'll still be a clown show next season when he inevitably falls out with everyone. That club just can't stop stepping on rakes!

They've sold St James Park to al-Ittihad so they can now afford to give Liverpool 100m for Salah?
