The survey on The Athletic does thankfully show its a very small minority who are questioning him. How satisfied are you with Howe’s performance this season? Even given the team’s miserable winter — and a run of seven losses in 12 matches — Newcastle fans remain overwhelmingly pleased with Howe’s work. The head coach maintains immense credit from his first campaign and a half in charge, while there is sympathy expressed for the challenges faced this season. With 86.8 per cent of respondents “very satisfied” and “satisfied” and a further 8.5 per cent “neither satisfied or unsatisfied”, it is clear that Newcastle supporters, like the club’s hierarchy, retain faith that Howe is the best person for the job.

I don't remember Benitez getting much stick at all, I think Benitez could have finished rock bottom with zero points and still got no stick as he won the champions league 20 years ago and all the stick would have been directed at Ashley. Howe has received more stick than Benitez ever did which is absolute madness really considering he has done a far far better job for us than Benitez did.

Luton at home is a game I would expect us to win without Isak , why risk him in a game we don't need him when we know how injury plagued he has been since we signed him. It's a case of looking at the bigger picture , don't play him let him recover from whatever slight injury he has and he be good to go next week in a game we will need him in. Rushing players back from injury this season hasn't worked for us at all.

No point in risking him at home to Luton .

I think poor Luton are in for a dusting especially after that 1-0 defeat in the away game, 4-0.

Bad news but would like to think we have enough to beat the likes of Luton, and Bournemouth at home, as well as Blackburn even without him.

Convinced we would be where Villa are if not for the crazy injuries and fitness problems we have had this season. We have comfortably beaten them on both occasions and I have watched them a few times this season and they really are no better than us .

Bruno should get the yellow tonight really , would like to think we are good enough to beat Luton at home without him.

I agree with this, signs over the last couple months show he is already on the decline defensively, fair enough he has got 7 assists this season but 3 of them came in that game against Sheff United. Its his leadership skills we would miss more than anything else, happy he is staying but also think 15 million would have been a good price with the FFP leverage it would have given us.

Joelinton out for the rest of the season was the final nail in the coffin for this season , we will likely finish 8th at best.

Now is the best time to sell him , middle of the season when we don't have a great deal left to play for and if the last few months are anything to go by he is already on the decline .

Obviously don't want him to leave but 100 million is a good price , if we spend it well we can strengthen the team build it round Isak and we be good to challenge the top 4 again next season with no European football.

Not so sure , the state they are in has isn't fully down to the owners , they have spent an absolute fortune on players , most expensive squad in the league isn't it. It's the managers that have spent the money badly that have got them where they are now . The owners never stopped Ferguson from being able to win the league .

Think it's pretty clear them rumours about cheating on his wife have some substance , his form has been so bad and it now appears he wants a fresh start somewhere else .

The derby has absolutely killed them, since that draw got made for the FA Cup 3rd round they have sacked a manager that did a good job for them and replaced him with a total clown . Then they rolled out the red carpet for us and got hammered 3-0 in a training match . All of the anger and hatred they have at the minute is because of that one match and it's now having a detrimental on results in the league . If that cup draw had never happened they would still probably be about 6th with a manager and owner they all liked .

Although it's obviously a more prestigious trophy the conference league reminds me of that daft pizza cup the mackems won, it's one of them where you don't really want to end up being in it and you end up playing a load of dog and duck type teams ,but if you are in it and have a chance of winning it you may as well take it . I wouldn't class it as a major trophy though .

Wouldn't be massively against this if the fee was right and it helped with FFP, love what he has done for us since he came in but he's not getting any younger and he's been nowhere near his best for the last few months. We already have his replacement in Livermento as well.

I think he's not far off , I have a mate who is a Liverpool fan and he says he would be perfect for them with all the pressing and running he does, along with his strength and physicality .

Unless he is asking for something daft like 150 -200 grand a week we should pay him what he wants , big clubs play the best players what they are worth to keep them when they are at their peak . You very rarely see them let one of their best players go at their peak due to not matching the wages they are asking for .
