  1. They were never remotely close or looked like winning the title that season to be fair , it’s always been held up as some sort of Spurs title challenge but it never was and they were never winning it .
  2. We would pretty much have 4th guaranteed by now if we had kept up our first half of the season form.
  3. Its already simmering now and that's with us sitting 5th in the league and getting to a cup final, I can genuinely see sections of the crowd getting on the players back against Wolves if things aren't going our way. The feel good factor of the second half of last season and first half of this season seems a long time ago.
  4. No idea how we are below Spurs really , they are absolutely awful to watch .
  5. Mount would be an excellent signing and he is a far far superior footballer to Scott Mctominay.
  6. It's very unlikely but it would be embarrassing to finish below Fulham mind, Brighton have a brilliant chance now to get to Wembley and will likely get distracted by that, Brentford are going to lose Toney at some point so count them out as well. I see it as us or Spurs for 5th, Liverpool are having an awful season but still better than us and Spurs.
  7. It’s not a proper trophy though and would do more harm than good to our league form .
  8. We don’t want that conference league bollocks like, if we aren’t getting 4th or Europa League we are better off finishing like 8th or whatever it is that means missing that daft competition.
  9. Did Henderson just say he hated watching Man United win the cup last week? That won’t go down well on wearside.
  10. Really enjoyed that even though it’s a bad result for us and I absolutely hate Liverpool, tells you how much I hate Man United.
  11. Be interesting to see what the atmosphere is like, can see people losing their heads and taking it out on the players if we aren’t playing well and don’t look like winning, which would be totally wrong.
  12. Can’t even bring myself to want Man United to win today even though it helps us.
  13. Thought he had Haaland in his back pocket yesterday, he’s a good threat from set pieces as well which is something we need, would start him next week.
  14. I don’t want Arsenal winning the league , Arteta is a wanker and so are the fans, the way they went on with Wenger after everything he did for them was a disgrace. They are one of the teams we will be competing with over the next few years and if they do win the league it makes it harder.

Have they ever had an ex player or manager that they ended up hating that hasn’t returned to get one over them within a few years ?
  16. Don’t think Eddie has done much wrong really , a lot of these players just aren’t good enough to be playing every week in a team challenging for the top 4-6, I would say the one thing he deserves criticism for is persisting with Wilson when he’s been shite for months and we have a 60 million forward on the bench .
  17. Maxi and Isak on for Wilson and Miggy is the way to go.
  18. Seem to remember one criticism Bournemouth fans had of Howe was that he was sometimes too loyal to players even when they were out of form and not playing well, seems the same is happening now with Wilson.
  19. I guess someone, either us or the PL will have to make some sort of statement, the other clubs wont exactly let it die down will they, I don't think anything will come of it but someone will have to say something about it.
  20. Brighton seem to be overrated on here, was only a few weeks ago they lost to Fulham at home and needed a last minute goal to beat Bournemouth at home, they will get distracted by the FA cup now as well, they are a good team but nothing for us to worry about. Liverpool have always been the main danger and however poor Spurs are they have Kane so will be top 6 because of that. As things stand unless we totally collapse Liverpool will be the only team below us now that will finish above us so that means we will be 6th at worst.
  21. Sounds like other clubs in the league are now complaining about it
  22. Amnesty International have asked the Premier League to re-examine assurances made by Newcastle United’s ownership that the Saudi Arabian state will not be in control of the club. The request follows the publication of court documents in the United States this week, which suggests a closer relationship between the Saudi state and the Public Investment Fund (PIF), who own 80 per cent of Newcastle, than had previously been stated. The Premier League approved the takeover in October 2021 only after receiving “legally-binding assurances” that PIF was a separate entity to the state. They claimed the deal had been delayed by 18 months due to the separation issue. However, that level of separation has been questioned due to a brief filed in a court case between the PGA Tour and PIF-owned LIV Golf. In that, PIF describe themselves as “a sovereign instrumentality of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” and Al Rumayyan as “a sitting minister of the Saudi government”. “It was always stretching credulity to breaking point to imagine that the Saudi state wasn’t directing the buyout of Newcastle with the ultimate aim of using the club as a component in its wider sportswashing efforts,” Peter Frankental, Amnesty UK’s economic affairs director, said. “There’s an unmistakable irony in the sovereign wealth fund declaration emerging in a dispute about another arm of Saudi Arabia’s growing sports empire, but the simple fact is that Saudi sportswashing is affecting numerous sports and governing bodies need to respond to it far more effectively. “The Premier League will surely need to re-examine the assurances made about the non-involvement of the Saudi authorities in the Newcastle deal, not least as there’s still a Qatari bid for Manchester United currently on the table.” Premier League chief executive Richard Masters told the BBC after the takeover that if evidence of state involvement was discovered, “we can remove the consortium as owners of the club”. The Premier League declined to comment.
  23. I don't even think Man United need state ownership, so these new owners coming in and spending a fortune on players will be no different to what the current owners have done, Man United haven't been miles off winning the league due to lack of spending, its due to the poor recruitment and the players the managers have bought. That isn't down to the Glazers. New owners aren't going to suddenly make them any better on the pitch as its not the lack of speniding thats the issue anyway.
