It could be possible we are waiting until late as possible so that we can go to the PL and say ‘look, we’ve done everything we can to play this game but it’s just not possible’
-
Moving into the same territory as Emery now this, multiple sources saying it’s done, other sources saying we haven’t even made a bid. fingers crossed they don’t cock this up.

I still sometimes have to take a minute to actually get my head around how we have gone from one end of the spectrum to the other, money wise. Crazy

I just can’t see them buying a team in the same league as City and being happy as a mid level team. They’ve bought us and I think they will go all out to make us competing at the top end year on year eventually. I don’t think they have spent 18 months chasing us just to put us on the back burner straight away for a team in a worse league. They spent £300 million on us, rumoured to be a billion for Inter - if they spend 3-400 million on us we will be on par with Inter anyway. Inter are currently losing 15 million a month, not something that would draw an investor I imagine. They also lost their head coach and 2 of their best players last year. The PL is a better league than Serie A with more money, more financial reward and way more exposure. Overall I am not overly concerned by this news.

We are quite short odds on Skybet to sign Dean Henderson and it might be quite a good idea…

What a fucking unit. Absolutely unreal

Reckon we’ve been struck by covid looking at that

People seem to be forgetting that on Takeover day Staveley said they want to win the league in 5-10 years. That isn’t going to happen without spending big
-
We don’t though. We need 4 more points than Watford, Norwich and Burnley. They may only get 10 more points each, who knows
-
Any optimism I have stems from the fact I think we will sign 5/6 players in Jan who go straight into the 11, coupled with the fact that, despite hearing constantly no one has ever survived from our position before and we need X amount of points, we are only 3 points from safety. There is no set number of points we need. We need to get 4 points more than Norwich, Burnley and Watford from this point onwards. obviously if the other teams win their games in hand then it makes it slightly harder, but with our financial situation and only being 3 points adrift, it’s not as big a task as a lot of people think.

Would be bloody lovely if we announced 3/4 players in the first week of the window

My main gripe with him is his attitude and body language - just look at Joelinton now, gives his all every week and everyone is full of praise. ‘We don’t demand a team that win, just a team that tries’. I’m not saying ASM doesn’t give his all, but too many times from him he throws his arms about in a hissy fit if he doesn’t get the ball, or spends 30 seconds on the floor if he doesn’t get a free kick. He’s been subbed ‘injured’ in multiple games where it just isn’t working for him and he throws the towel in, in my opinion. However at present he is our most dangerous player so we have no real choice but to let the above slide. I’m not convinced he will still be first choice in 2 years time though unless he improves his overall game.

He’s been released due to having a cardiac tracker of some kind fitted, the Italian league don’t allow players with one to play

Our tactics last night were spot on really when you consider the quality of our team compared to Liverpool’s. It was quite clear that Murphy/Manquillo and Lewis/Fraser were doubling up on Mane/Salah and we did get to break away a few times. As usual it’s individual errors that cost us, both defensive errors costing goals and poor decision making (mainly by Maxi last night) costing us decent shooting opportunities. As mentioned earlier in the thread, Howe with a quality team would be a good match IMO.

Daily Mail reporting Tripper wants to come, Atletico wanted 25 mil in the summer but only 6 months left on current deal so could go for less than half of that (however goes on to say his current deal triggers a 1 year extension if he starts 20 games, currently started 12, so that may add on to the price)
-
£25 million is not a lot in todays market
-
Would they really be put up backwards?
-
Have to think that Southampton, Watford and most likely Brighton & Leeds would have been wins under Howe
