  1. But nothing else so far unfortunately. Been a poor 25 minutes from everyone on the pitch. Can't get any worse at least.
  2. No just Man Utd who seem to throw themselves to the floor at every opportunity.
  3. Slow, sloppy not really stringing anything together so far. Need to up it.
  4. Cos they've got no hair and are too old for baseball caps.
  5. Feel bad for Targett. But then I'd probably feel bad for Burn if he missed out as well so it's a no win situation for Howe really, he'll disappoint one of them regardless what he does.
  6. Nervous, more to lose. No reasonable expectation against Man Utd but pretty high expectation that we should be winning this. Doubt the players will feel the same though, they will know what they are capable of and they are much better than this average Everton team. Just need to prove it beyond all doubt now.
  7. Doubt we see Shelvey in either of these next 2. From what Howe said he's not really ready yet.
  8. Can't see Everton scoring. No one in that team worries me in the slightest. Gordon is overrated, Gray is one dimensional, McNeil is one of the worst wingers I've seen live in the Prem and Maupay is just a short, French Chris Wood. There is a reason they've scored the 3rd fewest goals in the league. We need to take our chances, Wilson has to get back scoring in this surely. If we lose or draw, it'll all be on us not doing what we need to.
  9. Shame ASM isn't available to go up against Coleman, I reckon that would've been somewhat one-sided. Atleast Murphy will have him for pace though, won't count for much if Evertone are planning in sitting deep all game though.
  10. Best XI possible needs to be out for this one. Not only because its at home against Everton but because its the next game coming up. Talk of who should start against Spurs can wait until after we've won this game.

Signed with a slight injury Howe said but it wasn't a thigh injury. Believe he said he wasn't 100% fit against Liverpool due to hamstring issue if I remember correctly?

    U23s & Academy

Game against Lincoln City tomorrow night in the Pizza Trophy. Doubt they'll get a win but I do think it's good having the U21s in this competition, gives them a taste of what they could get themselves into if they go out on loan.
  13. I think Everton will be an odd one for alot of teams this season, they can raise their game and go toe to toe when they feel like it but also I think they always seem to be on the cusp of getting a battering. They've gotten away with more points than they derserve this season because Pickford has been very good. Across the West Ham, Leeds and Southampton games he made a total of 13 saves to the oppositions total of 5. That can't go on that way all season without conceding way more on average per game.
  14. Part of an exceptionally good defensive unit so far. Compliments Schar very well as he's so solid in the air.
  15. Liverpool can't hack decsions not going their way, even when winning. They are are moany, woe is me, the world is against me little child.
  16. Won't be bringing in another striker unless Wood goes I imagine. I suppsoe that is possible but it's a big if.

Probably my biggest takeaway from these first 10 games is exactly that. We are extremely difficult to play against and to beat us requires near maximum effort from any team we face. Can't ask for much more than that I'm such a short space of time.

World Cup will be a blessing in disguise for us. A well needed rest for most of our squad and for the top 6 a nerve jangling horror show of injuries and fatigue for all their international players. Thankfully we'll probably only need to be concerned with Trippier, Bruno and Schar. None of them are guaranteed starters either which lessens the blow somewhat.
  19. A very annoying sub genre of VAR. If it's potentially offside they should check it once that player then touches it. If he is deemed to be offside the defending team should be given the free kick from that spot, not be forced to take a goal kick just because he misses it, those 10/20 yards could be the difference.

Typical. The striker we bring in to negate the effects of our crocked striker goes and gets himself crocked for almost the exact amount of time the previous one would have been.

As much as it's in our own hands and the position we are in now is a good sign of things to come. Alot could rest on how poor Liverpool can be for the rest of the season, if they don't finish in the top 6 (very unlikely) then that's an extra spot up for grabs that we didn't anticipate.
  22. Longstaff out and Willock in, Targett for Burn and that'll be it is my guess. Assuming that is Bruno was not brought off injured ofcourse. In which case Longstaff stays. Probably too early for Shelvey to start but can see him coming in if the situation allows for it.
  23. Depending what happens in the City game we could conceivably be 10 games into the season in 6th with the fewest goals conceded and having lost only 1 game. We'd have all taken that at the start of the season I'm sure. 10 games in is usually a good indicator of what is to come and arguably we've underachieved so far with the amount of wins we have. Today wasn't the best overall but its in stark contrast to what has played out in the previous years at Old Trafford.
  24. Judging by the starting XI and the subs made today I wouldn't be surprised to see Anderson get a good amount of time against Everton. Howe is going to have to rotate a little in these next 2 games to keep up the intensity. Everton at home is a much better chance for Anderson than Old Trafford would ever be.
