  1. Are Aston Villa fans getting a bit nervous? If they lose today surely they will be dragged back into it somewhat. Especially considering they still have to play Burnely twice and their own form is pretty poor.
  2. I do agree that I don't think we will fall foul of FFP rules with this new ownership as it would require complete stupidity to do so. However I'm sure Everton thought the same thing and they are a whisker away from it. You are right there's definitely something to be said for whether any clubs will actually want to buy the players we want rid off and I think actually that may be one of the most difficult jobs this summer (clearing squad spaces for new signings).
  3. The funds from players like Hendrick, Clark, Hayden, Fernandez and Gayle will all add up to a reasonable sum that will help us adhere to FFP. Just 3million on average for each of those players adds up to 15m and that's nothing to sniff at, because regardless of the billions our owners have we need income from player sales to help stay withing limitations over the next few years. I understand that removing players from the wage bill and the squad is also important but of the 2 options I know which I'd pick and which one benefits the club more.

    Joelinton

Impressive stuff. Especially considering how much longer Rice has played that position over Joelinton.
  5. I wouldn't, they can buy him for sure, wouldn't give a shit about that. But we need the funds for players like Hendrick. He's done well in the Championship these past 6 months, he's worth a few million, not a useless loan to help out cabbage head.
  6. It does seem louder than it has done in previous years and for what it's worth I also think it's much louder than it needs to be. On another note, I noticed Wor Flags post something about Level 7, what's the plan there?
  7. The absolute fucking cheek of Bruce if he thinks we would ever entertain the idea of sending him a loan player, ANY loan player no matter arguably the best one we could send out. Ludicrous!
  8. Pogba no, Rashford yes. I know Pogba is free and Rashford is not but he's younger and has a better attitude.

    Joelinton

It would be incredible to have Joelinton in the Brazil squad for the World Cup as well as Bruno. Not completely impossible either, especially if he continues his form into next season and with more eyes being on us now. Not sure what options Brazil have in that #8 role but no doubt they have alot of talent in midfield as always. Will be nice to just be able to have a few Newcastle players at the World Cup to watch.
  10. I think Carragher was spot on recently when he advised any player approached by Man Utd to "run a mile". No one can see into the future ofcourse but it would be a risk going there when there are so many better options.

    Joelinton

Article on Official NUFC website about/from Joelinton. All the usual stuff but nice to hear from him. https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/features/i-know-what-i-m-capable-of-joelinton-interview/
  12. Come on Burnley!! Give Lampard a reason to lose even more hair.
  13. I've thought this in the last couple of games. Almiron and Bruno seem to have a decent understanding and enjoy playing together. Could be the South American thing, I think Almiron, Bruno and Big Jo are often pictured together.
  14. Mateta constantly holding his arm up and tapping his imaginary watch was pissing me off. I'm glad the Leazes finally gave him some stick towards the end. Also Gallagher was far dirtier than I had expected, never seen him live before but he was poor and offered little bar a yellow card waiting to happen.
  15. Aside from the exquisite assist he very nearly scored a superb goal where he flicked it over the defenders head and first time volleyed it at the goal. Didn't have enough power in the end but could've been glorious. My point is, he clearly isn't JUST a CDM or an anchor player, he's got the ability to go box to box and excel in both.
  16. Solid once again! Clear why Manq isn't getting a look in anymore. He's taken a few leafs out of Targetts book and it's working a treat.
  17. Same could be said for alot of clubs and players. If the player wants to leave/is happy to leave then it just takes the right offer. He's still young so would take a decent fee I'm sure but no doubt it's possible.
  18. If it was entirely my decsion I'd go for Paqueta, Jesus, Tomori, Camara. Thats signings at CAM, ST, CB and CDM. 4 new signings all with far more quality than we already have yet not an entire upheaval of the squad. Lose the deadwood, Clark, Lewis, Hayden, Fernandez, Gayle and Ritchie (Dummett maybe) Keep Elliot Anderson in the squad and perhaps bring in another youngster or 2. That would leave us with plenty of cover across the pitch in every position but also with space in the squad to add in January if necessary due to injury etc.
  19. Wood as 3rd choice and 2 new strikers isn't something I'd be adverse to. Sounds harsh in alot of ways on Wilson but he can't be relied upon to be fit for enough games. Would be difficult to turn down a solid offer for Wilson I would think. He's injury prone and 30 now, if we get a offer of circa 15m I'd take that.
  20. I've watched every single video/interview/match that Howe has done here and that one for Crystal Palace is by far the most relaxed and at ease with questions that he has looked. Was more than happy to have a joke with the guys in the room and genuinely seemed far more comfortable. I think obviously this has alot to do with the results and the league table but it does seems he's more settled in his role now, which can only be a good thing.
  21. Or potentially Jesus? Pretty sure they've got another striker coming in from South America that they signed and loaned back (River Plate maybe?). This would push him down the pecking order. I'd snap their hands off if he was available for a reasonable fee.
  22. We're due a crazy game I think. 4-3 win. Wood Hat-trick
  23. Didn't even cross my mind that Pardew had won it. Just had a look and Tony Pulis won it at Crystal Palace 13/14 season, after taking over in late November (no idea what position they were in when he took over) and finishing 11th with them. So it's definitely on the cards if we can get into the top half.
  24. Any chance of him getting Manager Of The Season? Where would we need to finish for him to be in with a shout? 9th perhaps? 10th even? Has a manager ever won it without having won a trophy in that season?
  25. That's one thing he does well in fairness and always has. He doesn't hide from the ball or shy away from trying to create, no matter how bad a game he is having. Can see how he celebrates both goals that he has the passion for this club/ his teammates .
