Newcastle United 1-0 Arsenal (04/11/23) - Post match reaction from p. 46
KingArthur replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
Sadly Arsenal is much better with the ball, and we have to do a lot chasing. With all these games and our injuries cannot see how we hold them. -
Surely we are not after left footed Cb? No way.
-
Who would you bring? Willock and Gordon are dead

LCR4: Manchester United vs. Newcastle United - 01/11/23 @ 20:15 (Sky Sports)
KingArthur replied to 54's topic in Football
Dummett surely for Schär? He really needs a rest, we cannot afford to lose him if Sven is out for long. Livramento for Trippier, Targett for Burn. Otherwise cannot see a lot of changes. -
This is so frustrating. He tries to buy fouls by shielding and then going to ground. And when he doesn't get the foul, we are often so open on the counter. Just move the ball for fuck sake.

The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)

Then the question is, why did some of your players push up to press, when the back 4 couldn't follow? Ten Hag doesn't have a control of his team? -

To be honest, Sky Sports studio also said they have no idea what ManU are trying to do. And it has been over a year. You can't press with Maguire and Evans at cb. -
Yea, it is obvious, but now that he has started to play better, we are starting to get a grip of games. Of course we are now playing against easier teams than in the start.
-
People were critical about him at the start of the season, but has been brilliant in the last few games. Key player for us.
-
Yea, that back 5 still cost about 150 million+ ?

I still think people expect too much too soon. Like complaining about getting Livramento and Hall. We are building for the future, not the present. We are expecting to be at the very top in 4-5 years time, not every year after one UCL-place. Our squad is way too thin and way too weak. We need 3,4 or 5 signings like Tonali or Bruno or Botman. Top teams have wage bill 2-3 times bigger than us, of course they are going to attract better players. We are not getting top 4 this season, but we will be about top 6-7 with Villa and ManU. And that is fine, that does not mean we have not progressed. We have. -
Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-2 Newcastle United (28/10/23)

I didn't really see a good review of the penalty incident. Looks first that Schär dived, but his ankle twists so weirdly that surely Hwang kicks him a bit at least? -

I think draw was a fair result. We seem to be defensively weaker than last season, and especially now that Botman is out. Injuries are mounting and I think we need to toss either the LC game or the Arsenal away game. If you cannot play Livramento or Hall now, then when can you play them? -
I think he should be used on the wing, was again the weak link in the midfield. Loses the ball way too often and makes bad decisions.
-
Dortmund's attack was way better than ours, Pope is the reason they scored only once. We were also a bit unlucky, but we are again not creative enough against deep lying defences. Sad thing is the injuries, we are really on thin ice already.
-
They seem to have scouted that when we lose the ball there is acres of spaces behind Trippier. Sadly Lascelles is there and he is not very good 1v1 defender.
-
They are really showing how to break when we lose the ball. That really is different quality to us, sadly.

City has been mediocre without Rodri too. -
Might not be popular opinion, but I kind of want them to come up so we can beat them. Boring now that they are in bottom league. And yea let them rot and all that..

To get Top4 will be huge ask this season. But we are not doing too badly. Sadly Spurs and Liverpool are doing much better this season. ManU on the other is not as good. Top6 would be great. I think we just need to turn the draws from last year to wins. Lost points to Palace, Bournemouthx2, Leedsx2... -
Why on earth we would buy a left back in front of Hall now? Surely he will take over from Burn and Targett in 1-2 years time. We need CB, or maybe soon 2. And a right winger.
-
He worked very well and could have scored himself. Sometimes when he gets tired he seems a bit selfish. Second half he had a tame shot on goal when we finally had bodies near the box. But he worked his socks off and he is always a danger.
-
He was brilliant, played Isak through once and created the first chance for him. Always looking to make things happen.
-
I think he was better, but Burnley was crap. 2 decent chances and maybe should have scored from the breakaway
