The fans, like you, are saying that you have played well and deserved the win etc. But the fact is: it was 10 man Lyon, you were at home. Yea, getting through the tie is the thing, but you cannot seriously say you played well? If you think you played well, do you think your team is good, the money has been well spent and Amorim is doing good job? Neither of these are true I would say. And if Amorim is doing good work, what would be the expectations for next season? What do you expect? But you do understand when you spend the most/almost the most money to your team, expectations HAS to be high? It doesnt work like that you spend billions of pounds but the fans are ok to be 7th. Those expectations come from everywhere around football. Just like Chelsea, their fans cannot be content with winning UECL and ending up 7th in the league when they have spent a billion dollars on their team.

It just shows the level of expectations at ManU nowadays. Scraping past ten man Lyon AT HOME, is seen as success. Your team is one the richest and biggest clubs in the world, who should get best players and coaches in. Seems like your club has been in a constant turmoil since SAF left, and everytime there is a coach who gets few wins on the bounce, there is this "next season will be ours" -stuff. The big problem is that your squad does not have the players Amorim need, and seems like you don't have the staff or money to fix it in a year or two. But the fans will always expect to be challenging at least for UCL places.

Yea, well, you played half a game 11v10 v Bournemouth, half a game 11v10 against Bilbao. I wouldn't say neither was very good display 11 v 11. You were quite bad against Lyon, who scored twice 10v11 at OT. And you were totally torn apart at SJP. So league position is all that matters? Naah, Milan has and had a quality squad. If you ask Bilbao fans, I would think they rather face Brentford than ManU, even though first one is doing miles better in the league. You are defending better in the league than before, partly because there are 7 quite defensive players in the lineup. Amorim is making your team harder to beat, but your attacking is, and will be, woeful until big players arrive. You are totally relient on Bruno for creativity. There is no reason to have a go at me for stating the obvious. Your season has been awful, winning UEL brings some kind of success, but if you don't win it, will Amorim still be there next season? Ange probably is out anyway, and your league record is pretty much the same as Spurs'. edit. So after that Everton game, you have won: Ipswich, Real Sociedad (who got a red card 63'), Leicester, Lyon (AET, red card), Bilbao (red card 1st half) And drawn against Bournemouth, City, Arsenal, Lyon, Sociedad, Fulham (lost on penalties) Lost to: Newcastle, Wolves, Forest. I am sorry, but that is totally mid table team stuff.

Yea, should have kept it tight and keep themselves in the tie. Now it is done and dusted. ManU are and were nothing special, but that was so easy. Just put it behind the line for Garnacho. They have been unimpressive for the UEL season, but that seems to be enough this season. Maybe why Bodo are up there in last four and Djurgården in UECL semis. ManU need UCL way more than Spurs do.

Tbh Bilbao could have scored a couple early on. They didn't and goals change game. ManU are experienced side in these kind of games. Bilbao were too open.
-
This 100 %. Seems like a player who doesn't create much from static situations or play with his head up a lot.
-
They are defending too aggresively. Manu are weak but Fernandes will find space. aand there it is

I would be surprised if we spend more than 100+M. But if we sell someone, then maybe.

I think this is the right topic for this.. But my local Finnish team TPS plays for 2nd tier in the Finnish league, again hoping to get promoted. One of their rivals, EIF, who was relegated last season and tries to get back up straightaway, managed to fuck up gloriously. They have a quite an expensive team and are taking bit of gamble. And then this happens: Their chairman makes a parent club agreement with a team in the top flight, so that they can move players after closing of the transfer window. Loan players to cover injuries etc. They pay the fee for the league and register it before the deadline 28th of February, but there are no news about this so no one notices. Last friday both teams release a statement that this kind of agreement is in place and how wonderful it is etc. The problem is, that this kind of agreement automatically means they cannot get promoted. It is stated in the league rules, that making this sort of deal means you are not eligible for promotion. It doesn't even matter if any player moves between clubs or not. Well, apparently they didn't know this, so now there is panic. They have deleted the announcements from their websites, but the agreement can be seen at the league web page. Then they told reporters "no agreement was signed" etc bullshit, because the deal was made, sent to the league and fee was paid. Season started week ago, but seems like it is over for them already.

Would he drop Joelinton, Bruno or Tonali from the lineup?
-
I would guess that most likely we will see some names not mentioned once in this topic, given Mitchell's contacts in Europe. We need so many bodies in, that we have to be clever. Eddie must understand that after what happened last summer.
-
Surely with all these youngsters, we need to get a real guy to handle the loan deals, not Shola?
-
I thought Villa was building a new stadium? But apparently not.
-
If that price is right, we are not in that conversation.

Chelsea have a very difficult fixtures. They wont win both Liverpool and Everton, most likely neither. They most likely will not win at Forest or at SJP. That already leaves them behind. Villa and City play each other. City has easy fixtures and will certainly get UCL. I think we are clear with home wins. -
I think he tries a bit too hard sometimes. Mostly it is because he gets the ball so rarely.
-
We just haven't dealt with movement from their attackers at all. Off game. Still UCL-place up for grabs, no worries.
-
Interesting that they were not pressing Burn at all. Schär was the trigger. Draw would be great.
-
Villa are happy to just launch it behind our back line. Watkins causing trouble cause we have Schär, Bruno and Trippier on that side, who are all slow as hell. Next goal wins. Their goal was lucky, but Watkins had many chances anyway

ManUtd have totally exploded. Glorious
-
to be honest, they had one 3v3 where they made a totally wrong decision when easy pass to Mateta would have seen him through. Again that shows as 0,00xG. I don't really like that stat.
-
He did. Only captain can approach the ref like that. Joelinton off. Thank god.

Feel a bit sorry for Isak. Just doesnt catch a break

This is fucking ridiculous. a) it is coming together b) why did Pope had to come that far?

They can still make a gentleman's agreement..
