  1. Happy with that. Glad to see it wrapped up so early.

Maybe he knew 3 weeks ago he wasn't going & that affected his performances, mood and Eddie's decision to take him out for a couple of games?

Hardly Newcastle's fault, it's his form here that put him in contention in the first place.
  4. Each league position is worth just under £3m, so even without European football, two wins in this congested table could still make a meaningful difference to the transfer funds. So its not completely meaningless still.
  5. From what I've seen, the blue is also a bit lighter than the FH version on the actual kits. Still looks shit though.
  6. Away is very nice imo - all black with a light jigsaw like pattern. Old school Adidas and NUFC logos used too. Think this is a huge winner. 3rd is a fairly plain light purple kit with the current logos used. Home is a bit tragic as you can see above.
  7. Believe the 3rd kit is a purple effort, not black.
  8. It's genuine from what I've heard. Also no green outfield kits next season, which is nice.
  9. Heard they will be on next season's kits, so must have been extended again.
  10. Tbh if you want to be pedantic, it doesn't kick in until July...
  11. Based on my extensive knowledge (via Google in the last 3 minutes), seems like they were founded by former UFC fighters in South Africa, hence their ties. The Athletic also called out that Hopkinson specifically wanted to diversify away from PIF brands, so hopefully there's nothing shady here. But who knows.
  12. From The Athletic's article - https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7163381/2026/04/02/newcastle-training-ground-kit-knox-analysis/ "For Newcastle to secure £6m a year for their present training ground — which, although currently being renovated as part of an ongoing £30m expansion, the club have publicly stated they will move away from in search of a “10-out-of-10” facility — feels unexpected. Once they add a front-of-training-kit sponsor, which insiders feel could be even more lucrative, Newcastle believe the cumulative value will rank alongside the clubs mentioned above."
  13. Also really good how it's a completely non-PIF brand, so no risk of the PL or UEFA arguing about FMV. Great to finally get something like this announced.
  14. New £6m a year training ground sponsor announced(!!) - https://www.newcastleunited.com/en/news/newcastle-united-announces-knox-hydration-training-ground-partnership/?utm_source=x&utm_medium=organic_social&utm_campaign=main_news_men_other_knox_020426
  15. Surely the £3m is the season total, not a single game?
  16. "This is not the news regular readers of this column will want to hear, much like Alexander Isak and Liverpool last year, but Sandro Tonali and Manchester United has gathered a lot of momentum in recent days. Indeed, my sources now expect Manchester United to make a formal approach to Newcastle after the season’s end. The Old Trafford club have a midfield shortlist of three ahead of this summer, but Confidential understands Tonali is set to emerge as the main target ahead of Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton. Anderson is admired greatly but he is likely to join Manchester City. Interestingly, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is said to have added his support to an approach for Tonali, so impressed is the Portuguese by his midfield counterpart. Newcastle are thought to be aware of Manchester United’s intent and, while Tonali himself has not agitated to leave or expressed an outright desire to do so, the repeated comments of his agent, who has touted a transfer, have been noted. But with three years to run on the Italian’s contract - plus an option for the club to extend by a further 12 months - Newcastle are in a very strong position when it comes to negotiating any potential fee. Unlike last year with Isak, there is no longer a void at executive level inside St James’ Park. The handling of Isak’s sale was a disaster and the fallout is still being felt now. Confidential understands Manchester United will make a formal approach to Newcastle for Sandro Tonali at the end of the season But Toon skipper Bruno Guimaraes is not on Manchester United's radar Rather, sporting director Ross Wilson knows that the club have to trade to move forward and lessons have been learnt from 12 months ago. Should Tonali finally communicate a want to leave - there would likely be a wage hike and Champions League football on offer at Manchester United - then Newcastle would consider what works best for them. Tonali has been linked with every club from Barcelona to Real Madrid to Arsenal and Manchester City in recent weeks, but my information in the past 48 hours is that Manchester United are moving to the front of the queue. They are not considering a move for Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes." Doesn't sound like he's pushing for it (yet) but seems likely Man U will be in.

So apparently these players will only join up on Friday/Saturday. Nice to see Burn and Gordon getting a bit of a rest - "Henderson, Burn, Guehi, Konsa, O’Reilly, Anderson, Saka, Kane, Rogers, Rice and Gordon." And once they arrive, they will release some of the others.

On Hall - "He had a very good season individually also in the Champions League campaign, except maybe for the second half in Barcelona but the first leg against Barcelona was excellent. " Cheeky bastard. *edit* In fact, kinda funny that they purposely edited this out of the YouTube versions of it, but left it in the written quotes. 5:40ish

Speaking about his decision to pick a 35-man squad for this camp, Tuchel said: “We decided to divide it into basically two camps almost, so we bring players in that we haven’t seen who haven’t played so much to open up the picture, and the competition for plane tickets to the US. “Then from Friday and Saturday, a group of players will come into camp – ten or eleven players who get a rest before and we will then go with a new group and mix of players into the match against Japan.” I'm still a bit confused as to who's in which camp and how it works.
  20. The whole embargoed Sundays section got broadcast on the website just now by mistake it seems if anyone is interested. Schär targetting a Palace return...not too much else headline worthy that I got from it though.

Not sure I'd want both Tino and Trippier starting the weekend tbh, someone needs to be fresh on the right. Fuck it just play the kids at the weekend.

Give him Chelsea off, bring in Botman and put Burn LB. Will be essential next week. Insane performance.
