Biggest complaint here is that horrific positional breakdown.
-
So given Trafford, Henderson and Pickford are in, that means no Pope (unless 4 GKs). Probably a good thing to recover.

Manchester United vs. Newcastle United: 15/5/24 @ 20:00 (Sky Sports)

Was sat in with the Leeds fans years ago when Shearer scored a last minute equaliser at Elland Road. They were all proper kicking off that day as it was Bowyer's first game back against them and they wanted blood. When Shearer's goal hit the back of the net I have no idea how I kept a straight face, think it was mostly the fear that they'd beat the shit out of me! tl;dr - don't take it, it won't be anywhere near as enjoyable. -
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/04/15/newcastle-united-transfer-news-tosin-adarabioyo-lloyd-kelly/ Interesting timing... Also mentions that Eddie wants to look at Minteh in pre-season but that he could already be off this summer.
-
Maybe simply didn't trust him in those moments, but clearly felt he would come good with enough time and coaching? Almost like, he knew he wasn't going to use him, but still wanted him in those squads to help hit the criteria perhaps.

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/im-here-now-lewis-hall-28991930 "Lewis Hall has revealed he is looking forward to a bright future as a Newcastle United player with his £28million move from Chelsea due to be confirmed. The criteria for Hall's transfer from the Blues to Newcastle was for Eddie Howe's side to finish 14th or higher and for the 19-year-old to be named in 30 or more squads, with United and Hall now achieving both of those milestones. And Hall, who recovered from a muscle injury to come on as substitute in the 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, is now looking ahead to the next stage of his career."
-
I actually find it somewhat positive too that one of the criteria was to be named in 30 Matchday squads. If Eddie didnt fancy him then it would have been very easy for him to avoid that milestone. Gonna be class in a couple of years with more coaching and experience.

And 125k TV fee as a result, finally all FFP worries are solved! -
There was a moment in today's presser with Tindall where Luke Edwards said 'good to see you're just as evasive with injuries as Eddie' to which Tindall replied 'I've been trained well' with a laugh. So they do intentionally leave open some element of doubt for the opposition with their answers.

Pep just confirmed Haaland and Stones are out injured. Massive! -
“Jacob is close,” said Howe. “He has joined in training with us, although only on a non-contact basis. He’s been in and around the team though, which has been great. His personality is really good, so he’s been a big player to have back with us training. “Harvey is getting closer. He hasn’t been training with the group, but he’s been running on the grass with his boots back on and he’s been kicking balls around. We’re pleased with his progress currently, but he still has a long way to go.” Callum Wilson is also still recovering from his hamstring problems, but he too could be back in the side to face Villa at the end of this month. “We’re well aware of what Callum’s problem is and the timescale on it,” said Howe. “We’re hoping that he can be back in and around for the Aston Villa game, that’s what we’re looking at. Obviously, if it takes a bit longer, we’ll take that time, but we don’t see it being a long-term issue.” Sounds fairly promising on Barnes and Murphy when you read the quotes. https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/24044732.newcastle-united-midfielder-joelinton-six-weeks/

Suspect tomorrow he might take the opportunity to give Livramento a rest (assuming he is not needed further forward) and go Trippier - Lascelles - Botman - Burn. -
https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1738121349611024890 < Fog on the Tyne? Only sharing because I vaguely recall there were some rumours we were interested at the back end of last season.
-
Ahahaha this is why we signed two backup fullbacks, fucking inject it.
-
Absolutely stunning from Tino!
-
It would. Surely a Saudi club will come in with a bid of £60m soon enough...
-
Understand it's only a 2 year deal, so gives a decent boost to current numbers but also will not be long to arrange a bigger deal once hopefully two seasons of CL football are under the belt to justify a bigger number. Apparently there was an offer of 22m for 5 years on the table too so this seems like a good outcome I think.

Alexander Isak: has a chance to play against Everton (Howe)

Holy shit, where did this come from?! Maybe why Pedro deal potentially stalled? Putting cash towards this? Fuck yes. -
It's still there - https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1561768302858407936

Decent move all round, strange in these times for it to go completely under the radar too.

"Water off a ducks arse" ???
-
Took a huge risk joining when he did with our league position, absolutely delighted to see it pay off for him. So excited to watch him in this team for the next few years .
-
Just gotta be thankful that we're talking about anybody now up to 12th being in the mix. A month ago we were basically cut and dry with Norwich, Watford and Burnley. Brentford, Norwich and Watford I reckon will go.
-
The whole point is that Wilson is not returning tomorrow though is he?

Lascelles was solid against Everton but not the end of the world to let Burn debut without 'dropping' Lascelles.
