  1. I still remember hearing when Owen had signed, I would have been 12 years old and heard it over the car radio while out with my dad somewhere. Was absolutely buzzing for days after, remember being similarly excited for Martins to as I’d read somewhere that he was one of the fastest players in the world Think he had a 99 pace rating on PES 07 or whatever year that was, he completely rinsed defenders on that.
  2. Some of our fans are already calling for a 4th placed finish next year, we are defo going down the same road

Yeah just chuck £100m+ at it, no worries

Also depends on if Wilson/the alternative would be happy with that arrangement, which they likely wouldn’t be unless they are a young up and comer that wouldn’t be expecting to play week in week out anyway.

I can’t even hate them anymore, just going on rtg for 10 minutes has me in stitches.
  6. If they don’t beat us they may well have thrown their season away in back to back games, you have to wonder if what happened last night has shook the mentality of a few of their players. Still think they will beat us mind, as long as it isn’t embarrassing I’m okay with that.
  7. What is the context of this stat though? By ‘chance’ do they just mean a pass leading to a shot? I find it very hard to believe he’s created 45 clear chances this season like.
  8. Circumstances entirely different though, we were very desperate at the time and had no choice and the fact those players worked is a credit to Howes judgement but could have just as easily not worked out as well as it did. And to make the point, we added 4/5 new first teamers in Jan and then to add 6/7 more in the summer would not make the team anymore stable than it is right now.. an almost entire new team in 6 months? Huge ask.
  9. Yeah 3/4 new first teamers max this summer, 6/7 is just way to big of a leap for one window not just on the money side but it’s just not feasible to integrate that many new players into the first team and expect them to hit the ground running any time soon.

How the ‘enjoy Burton’ crack ended up for them really encapsulated everything that club is.

Bare in mind I was wrong about RW lol, he actually drifted to the left a lot.. starting a few games at LW. But yes, possible.

Yeah, this is kind of where I’m coming from. I know a few here disagree with me on the amount we’ll see spent on fees/wages this summer and in an ideal world we’d all like to see us bring in young, hungry players suited for the PL all over our squad and for sure we will see that, but balanced out with sensible deals from within the PL on top. Think what we saw in Jan - Bruno and Burn/Targett. I wouldn’t be upset if we saw him brought in on a 3 year deal for acceptable money.
  13. These comments, noises about moving him on combined with Howes pragmatic approach to unite the squad tells me he might not be around here much longer.

Heat map indicates he’d be very comfy inverted at LW

The stats I looked at lied, I stand corrected. Still likes to drift wide a lot albeit into the left, Saint Max wouldn’t like this

Why are they so obsessed with parking?

He’s as much of a winger as he is an AM imo, he played most of his games at West Ham at RW.

Would come in and be our first choice starting RW instantly filling a big part of our squad for no fee, a big win not having to shell out £30/40m for an expensive position and still securing a quality player. As long as he takes a pay cut and is happy with somewhere around 100k pw I think it makes sense for both parties, has a point to prove at the stage/age of his career.. just hope he drops the cringe J Lingz/dancing/L sign celebration. Hes PL proven. Not every player we sign will be a young up and comer that needs to moulded into a PL player over multiple season, a balance is always good in that sense.
  19. I mentioned this maybe last week or the week before, I really think this is a route we may go down. Of course it depends on who is available for what but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Wilson remain as first choice next season with a young striker (not necessarily Ekitike) 2nd choice behind him which will still grant a fair amount of playing time given Wilson’s injury issues. Spending £60-70m on two players that play the same position this summer is highly unlikely unless we plan to switch to playing with 2 strikers. It’s just a massive chunk taken out of our FFP limits when we need more quality spread throughout the squad.
  20. Think a big part of Mitros form dropping off in the PL is down to how Fulham have to adapt their style for the league, put him in a side like West Ham’s and you might see 15 goals a season.

    Sean Longstaff

Would defo keep him around for another season or two, we need some depth in midfield if we are going to stick with 433 and every squad needs players that won’t kick up if they aren’t playing every week. Reckon he’s a good lad around the dressing room in general.
  22. I was saying this yesterday, he’s always leaning and falling backwards when he takes a shot as well (Actually scored like that vs Man United).
