Nagelsmann would be another error, hope they make that none too.

What a twat ten Hag is, couldn’t resist the dig
-
the next four games are crucial and tricky - will be season defining WH will view Wednesday as a must win, Brentford are flying. Villa are on a good run. Spurs who knows which side turns up i think all are winnable but will take concentration and focus
-
First goal was a superb team goal, shows what the side is capable of
-
Might want to check your maths!

Agree…Isak deservedly took the starting slot, but today a nice reminder of what he brings, delighted for him
-
The 5-2 very unlucky with injuries going into it, purely from memory critically Speed and Robert and then a couple of others were out, and then (as now) there was a good first team but no squad. That side was another good demonstration of how squads not first elevens win titles in England

It’s a big test, a top four club at home where it isn’t a free hit and any point is a bonus, but a big opportunity. Man Utd have quality throughout and will behave like the dickheads they are. The players will need to handle that pressure. Very different from Chelsea at home where expectations were lower

As Leicester and West Ham have only had to win their next game to move about 4 places clear I guess it makes the clubs reluctant to pull the trigger - incurs a lot of cost, carries a lot of risk. West Ham probably know they are poor at appointments Think I’d prefer West Ham to go down over Everton but it’s like choosing what milkshake flavour to get - they’re all good. Quite like to see what forest do next season if they survive, if they go down they’ll just implode which is a bit predictable
-
so funny Chelsea sacked Tuchel this season given he’s the best fit for what they want. If Ancelotti leaves Real in the summer then he would be the best short term fix
-
They’ll try and resurrect the super league
-
Sometimes journalists hear of a link, then write up justifications after to make it sound more credible…
-
Yeah, unless Man City implode due to FFP or something random only Real or potentially Barca have a chance of getting him. No German team could afford his wages for a start.
-
If a new LB is brought in, or Targett gets a run in the team we’ll see a different player. The lack of an overlap rally hinders him
-
Having a right footer wide right created a number of chances - I know it’s not Howes style but mixing it up every so often gives teams something different to think about
-
Yes, another good game, and involvement in goals. Underrated
-
He’s always been a clumsy tackler, he played plenty of games for Newcastle like that
-
For what it’s worth in the last three windows 5 defenders have came in vs 1 midfielder and 2 forwards (ignoring wood as he’s already gone). Wouldn’t be a massive surprise if they lean toward midfielders and forwards over the summer given the FFP constraints and LB/CB wait a year.
-
Staveley supposedly had to borrow to fund the investment and given they’ve put more cash in, PCP might be struggling to keep up. maybe they fancy offloading part of their stake for some pocket money
-
Think Pope got away with one, but every little break in the last few games has gone against Newcastle so about time the luck changed
-
Also is Isak a player to lob crosses at? He will want through balls.
-
In the past year Newcastle have spent about the same as Man Utd, but they were starting from a top 6 club and we were starting rock bottom in the PL. Its no surprise they have better depth. They lost Eriksen and bring in a Brazil starting international. Whereas when Bruno got suspended and it was bare bones. Deep in the season this matters. Be another few transfer windows to get close
-
Agree with the point about the ASM / Burn - both end up isolated They doubled up on ASM when he was on the ball and his only pass out was to come inside often giving it to Bruno. A left back with crossing ability behind him would change that dynamic Similarly if you play Burn you have to have a left winger who will come right back to cover and take the short ball off him

I was lower tier and the atmosphere was patchy but not bad- lots of shouting but not that many songs The second goal knocked the stuffing a bit it picked up toward the end when Newcastle were pressing. At times Man Utd fans did out sing Newcastle, but they were two up in a cup final!
