  1. Either way, how do you actually realise that value when there's a training ground on there? Either you own a training ground but don't own a football club to use it, or you own some land with a training ground already built on it. Surely the point of fair market value is that an individual, company or business not associated with CFC would also see the same value in the asset?
  2. The Fair Market Value thing I can understand with a hotel, obviously is an ongoing source of income etc. that has value as an asset to a person or company other than CFC. But the training ground? How is that worth £100m+ to anyone other than the football club itself?
  3. I like the reports that he values the project and our plans for his development. I wouldn't blame a player for just taking the biggest payday on offer but that's not the sort of player we need. Not that we won't be offering good money obviously...
  4. Potentially, but of all the areas we are (apparently) looking to strengthen, RW seems to be the most obvious first-team signing.
  5. Last home game? Not that I think that's what was happening with Bruno but that'll be the suggestion.
  6. If Man City win the FA Cup, yes.
  7. Europa Conference if Man Utd win the Cup, Europa League if they don't
  8. I'm not gonna lie, I'd be first in the queue to snap that up ?
  9. Depends on the price but he could be worth a punt. He's had double-digit seasons in the PL and Serie A so he's shown he can be productive. Either way we're going to have to take a punt on someone young & unproven or someone coming off the back of a poor season (like Isak was for example).
  10. Newcastle Specific Player of the Season: Gordon Young player of the season (21 or lower): Miley Season to forget: Tonali Most Improved: Gordon (or over the course of the season, Hall) Unsung Hero: Burn Signing of the Season: Livramento Goal of the season: Barnes 90th minute winner vs West Ham Moment of the season: The West Ham comeback win Low point of the season: Bournemouth (h) - felt like we were on the verge of throwing away our European chances Manager rating (Out of 10): 9 (9½ if we sneak 5th!) Premier League Specific Player of the Season: Watkins Young player of the season (21 or lower): Palmer Manager of the Season: Emery (Arteta if he wins the title) Season to forget: Casimero
  11. That's a great shout Who's the guy who does the kit mock-ups, is it @Kid Icarus?
  12. Are signing fees not amortised the same way as transfer fees are?
  13. It's not a million miles away from Man City's current complex although they are building a new one for their Women's team I think
  14. Ramsdale might be an upgrade on Pope, in the same way that Pope might have been (and indeed was) an upgrade on Dubravka, but he's going to cost at least three times as much. If we're going to drop £30-40m or more on a keeper I want it to be an elite level one.
  15. Just as the weather is starting to turn too. I'm starting to think this guy isn't as committed to gardening as we were led to believe.
  16. I had a similar argument recently! I was trying to explain that to me, Man City's "cheating" isn't the same as bribing referees or taking performance enhancing drugs etc. It just allowed them to do what many teams have done before them over the years - outspend the competition. They haven't even spent that much compared to Man Utd and Chelsea, but they've definitely spent it better. I'm not of the opinion that they shouldn't be punished btw (although I so appreciate the advantage that would offer us along with any other clubs who would benefit from FFP/PSR being binned)
  17. "Mrs Guimarães we have arrested your son....we have also arrested your older, balder, fatter son"
  18. Nothing there to suggest it is football-related
  19. Not the best one they've done but I do find Nick Pope very funny for some reason. Makes me feel a little guilty for pining over that Georgian at Valencia...
  20. That little delay before a @SUPERTOON tweet loads is the background to my summer
  21. I could be wrong but don't both English teams go straight into the group stage? Wikipedia suggests that the 5th place team (presumably Spurs) and the Cup Winners (either Man Utd or whoever finishes 6th if Man City win it) would be put straight into the group stage.
  22. I think he's more a football guy who 777 hired, rather than a 777 guy, but I have absolutely no idea about his record identifying players.
  23. They've got some excellent players, I just think it's an unchangeable law of physics that they have to finish somewhere between 11th and 15th. Like trying to build a faster-that-light spaceship, it just can't be done.
  24. I'm still not 100% sure on what the current state of play is - obviously 777 want to buy the club, but aren't they currently funding the ongoing operations? What happens if they stop doing that?
  25. It's also worth noting that the most games they've won in a row so far this season is three. They're on a 2-game streak currently and they won two in a row early in the season but that's it.
