    On this day...

Keegan first game as manager 31 years ago today. 3 nil v Bristol City. A pivotal moment in our history. Also Clarence Acuna’s birthday!!
  2. it’s outrageous that those of us who’ve been will have watched Whitley bay or North Shields. But looking to the positives they both win their finals. Howayyy
  3. Paullow, you’re spot on kidda. OCOCOL ;-)
  4. Brian Blessed and Charlotte were consulted and said it was ok .. so you can’t completely blame the club
  5. exactly. we all love the club but it’s natural that those who have put the most money through the till will be rewarded (I appreciate those who boycotted because of ashley might now be disadvantaged but I’d guess a lot if these will know enough people to source tickets anyway).
  6. I never got one but just logged in yesterday and purchased one - reckon you’ll be fine mate
  7. akways a couple on strawberry place / St Andrews too. Even when we were shite .. can’t have seen that as being too profitable but …
  8. it’s a bit counter intuitive and doesn’t work but hey ho
  9. prevent overcrowding by keeping ticketless fans away and also trouble basically
  10. me too but whilst I would have booked SS years ago today I opted for the adjacent block to let the younguns have it - I expect uk be standing all the way through anyway as I’d imagine most round us will be regular away supporters
  11. Does anyone know what the crack is with flags - I have a 12 ft by 6 RN ending with NUFC etc on it . But it has been put away rinds we were last in Europe . Anywhere easy to display it / will it be allowed? I have been to nee Wembley to see Whitley Bay and North Shields play but even that was 14 snd 8 years ago respectively so cannot remember
  12. sorry thought you meant you were in priority 1. Good luck when it’s your turn ??
  13. I got that but when I logged in - I could choose to buy tickets for the cup final. im sure the UX on the site will be improved soon
  14. That makes sense but it didn’t actually confirm it - you had to work it out for yourself (simple enough for most I Ona but..). Need a new Head of CRM / Supporter comms in Summer :-D
  15. Just so people know I never got the email confirming my eligibility but I logged on this morning and managed to book mine and be mates tickets ok. We’re block 131. Howayyyy

    sunderland

tbf to the mackems Millwall ran away!
  17. but we didn’t less than 18 months ago and yes I know why but as much as I dislike some elements of it football is a business and you can’t not look after your loyalest customers. I get and respect people who’s life situations have changed and totally support the reimbursement of LP fir those who gave up STs in protest and now have returned. I also feel for younger fans but a generation ago many youngsters were in the same position during the mid 90s. A ground expansion and a decline in fortunes helped alleviate that. It might take one of those (praying the first) to make the situation better for this eras younguns

    Safe standing

Does anyone keep a record of which end we kick off attacking. We kicked off towards the gallowgate versus Soton which is rare we usually if given the option kick off towards the leazes and then towards the gallowgate 2nd half (at least since the 1980s it might have been the other way when the Leazes was the main end). iirc it’s also done due to a slight decline towards the gallowgate end for tires kegs second half. anyway I digress but it seemed strange watching them defend the GE 2nd half not attacking it.
  19. They might have incorrectly assumed that once the NUST board were asked they would have canvassed their members opinions or had some insight. In reality they prob sent them an outline of what they were considering and Brian Blessed and his pals looked to see which pot they fell in and then said "fkin class" and give the club the thumbs up.
  20. You are 100% right I think @TheBrownBottle said it best a few posts up: "To me, a supporters trust’s board should view itself as a group of delegates, not representatives. They should simply be there as tribunes to deliver the majority views of the membership, not to give their personal views without the express support of the majority - i.e. act as a representative. I cannot picture Martin, Hurst or Robson keeping their personal views to themselves, nor in viewing themselves as simply delegates to take the trust’s views to the NUFC board - they want to be heard, want to feel special, want to schmooze. The fact that they’d clearly never thought that their position on the board might raise eyebrows is testament to their egos - I mean, we really shouldn’t give too much of a shite who is on the board, as I’d expect it to be filled with otherwise anonymous supporters. " I hope it won't take the club too long to clock on to their standing among the wider fanbase and not the RGS / Church High old boy / girl network
  21. That many? I don’t know tbh just would never expect any of the bigger away faves to drop below 100 points in that case and most do
  22. I’d have put period 1 at 80 plus loyalty points. I have 411 but went to all cup games so doesn’t affect me but know some lads that have been impacted same as you. anyone think the Trust / TF lot must have 25 / 26 points….
