the Trafalgar Square / Covent Garden shit does my head in - it’s not new, it’s just new in social media . We did it in both 1998 and 1999 and the jocks have done it ore any England v Scotland international. I assume most well supported provincial clubs who aren’t regular finalists do it.
  3. I know what you mean but they only returned them when the majority had been sold so fairly impossible to be resold and maintain segregation. I think Southampton overestimated their own fans demand / optimism
  4. In the gallowgate it was very good imo until they scored . I think then it’s the nerves we have one if the oldest average age crowds iirc - I’m 42 and I sing and get into it but not like I used to if I’m honest. One of the negatives to our loyalty over the years is that there’s less radge younguns than other clubs and there’s (strawberry corner aside) not as many focal points for them to congregate as in the past . anyway we did it. The Newcastle way granted - nee good for my heart / blood pressure that …
  5. Been working in Darlo on train back its buzzing. Just left CLS everyone on the cans. I now need to decide drop my bag home (fawdon) or hoy in left luggage at central station. I’ve already had 3 pints so I’m reckoning the latter option is best

That's fair - the significant minority of posters fall into 2 groups: local lads and lasses but don't go to games or are southern exiles who now sneer at the region and it's people.

Haven’t the mackems tried to claim him? Sure some of the RTG lot have said that previously but being a wallsend lad and going to st cuthberts I cannot see it

    Football pet hates

you have to remember at the top level must have been in a bubble shielded from average life pressures since they’ve been 14/15 in some cases. It’s probably exactly like being at school just more cash and blart

Aye me too. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility he’s a king standing fan. On my original post I missed out Dawn Thewlis haha

They both lurk so I am told, as does Jimmy Nail, Brian Johnson, Gabby Logan and Gav Webster

it was Ant wasn’t it? And he crashed and was completely off his chops iirc. in reply to others normal punter would get a fine in the region of £700-£1000 assuming they were on a median regional salary. Nice contrite post from Big Joe. Learn from it and move on. Let be without sin cast the first stone.

Hopefully he has a goal bonus - should have had a treble up on Tuesday...
  14. Remember the first as a bairn and me dad would roll his eyes and say "Let the lad watch the end of the match chances are she'll be there for hours".. Was funny when it happened during a break in play and you'd see someone in the East stand jump up and leg it down the stairs getting a round of applause on their way out!

You cannot have it both ways. Yes NUFC supporters live in Washington, Consett, Stanley etc. but these lads and lasses are often called 1992ers or plastic whereas the MLFs from Blyth, Ashington, Gosforth, Cullercoats are as loyal as you'll find. Anyway I digress - the home crowd at SOL booed the taking of the knee so much that Sunderland along with Millwall dropped it - that'll show the neo fascist 24 carat heed the baals. I wonder what that looks like to a player from outside of the region contemplating signing. Particularly a POC.

they did it at some European away games in the past too. Tbh apparently we’re bad for it and we’re in League one I don’t understand the mentality of anyone who would do that. You’d like to assume it the vast majority of cases it’s locals who own an nufc / safc shirt but the “look at me” culture that’s prevalent on social negus would suggest it’s actually “real” fans of either club doing it (I’d hope that they live fairly close and aren’t travelling miles to act the c**t)

you will have a lot of influence . Despite the membership numbers the trust have little traction among people I know who have been home and away supporters for years. They all know WF tho

    Safe standing

the trust will only back it if the board members are personally in favour but worth a try

    On this day...

Man Us run in was amazing. But and this might be an unpopular view our mistake was not signing Tino who added to the side but David Batty who was a good player but he replaced Lee Clark and neutered our attacking thrust through midfield. Just my opinion mind .
  21. there’s a little bit of casual racism I think when people have a go at arsenal fans tv (I’m not talking is just in general - some people don’t like the multiethnic London slang and swagger and there’s probably a reason behind that. And I think something we should defend because at it’s heart it’s also anti working class)
  22. Stanley Matthews or Gordon Banks? (Assuming not born / from Stoke)
  23. we hate man United but Newcastle we love you !
  24. not me - it’s actually “Brighton and Hove Albion” if you want to go down that route.
