I’m a bit conflicted on this. i hope he hasn’t got a gambling addiction, which by all accounts is a horrendous illness with very poor recovery rates. In that case there will also likely be other mental health conditions beneath the addiction. the other scenario is he has been extremely stupid but doesn’t have a gambling addiction. I hope it’s this scenario and his agent (if the twitter screenshots I have seen on here are real) has decided saying he has an addiction is better all round. where I’m conflicted is that if he has got a gambling addiction that has damaged his career this much and will likely now be in a much worse mental state from all of this. There really should be no talk of him playing anyway. As soon as he isn’t required to attend court in Italy, he should be being shipped straight off to a rehab facility to monitor and help him now. hopefully he is getting the best treatment already and we just don’t know. But the agent can’t say he has a severe gambling addiction and him be expected to play anytime soon. The guys mental state will be shot to hell and needs immediate attention. To have all the money and support this guy has, and expect him to be sitting at home waiting to play our next game is nuts.

It depends what he’s preaching though. Does he say gambling and betting should be banned? Or that he has a gambling problem and doesn’t bet and recommends those that need help get it? Im genuinely not sure what his stance is. For example I’m a recovering alcoholic. But I don’t want drinking banned. I also wouldn’t have any problem working for companies that profit or promote alcohol. If hes saying betting and sports betting should be banned or the advertising then yeah thats hypocritical

Does it pre date statues, were we broke when the discussions happened. Im sure if fans wanted one it could be done. keegan obviously needs to be celebrated in some way, but no Surprise nothing happened during the previous owners. Not sure I agree with him. I want the best commentator for the job. That doesn’t always mean they have to have the experience of playing at that level. I can’t say I would be unhappy watching a CL final and they invited an ex nufc player who hadn’t won or played in the CL. Sorry les Ferdinand, you’ve spoilt this. BUT, back to the best person for the job, I don’t support a token woman if she is terrible. Pick the best people, some of the women are fine. But like the men, some are awful. Just sort the quality control out. someone entertaining is just as important to me.

I think the location has to be right and ultimately that means being supported by the people who live there. Not those who pass through the area even if daily. the Leeds ones are not universally liked, burley bankys who does a lot of the FTTC and elec boxes isn’t popular with everyone. That seemed to also open up the artwork to everyone. What if you don’t like football, ok my mural is of the pussy cat dolls and so on. That caused a lot of murals and witty or inspirational slogans to go up wherever anyone wanted in leeds and caused a big backlash. all great fun, until someone does a mural you don’t like next to your house. not sure where I’m going. I suppose my point is, they can look fantastic, but need support of local people who actually live on that street/location. Can be a bit Pandora’s box.

I still fancy all 3 of this seasons kits if they drop to £25 at the end of the season like last year. But I imagine castore might cut back production now and have less to shift at knock down prices.

Think I’m going to stick £2 a week away. Guessing the new shirt will be about 70-80 quid. That’s far too much for a football shirt for me, £2 a week will soften the blow. ?

I really think this ffp stuff needs to be published in an easy to follow spreadsheet by every club and updated on the 1st of every month. If clubs have to follow it, it should be transparent and published for everyone to understand. Although as I’ve written that, I can see why clubs would hate the idea as everyone would know how much everyone else had to spend/in the kitty and just because a club had 100m for ffp purposes they may not actually have/want to spend it. ffs. What a stupid idea it is. (Now we have rich owners)

Can’t criticise the guy for sticking up for his brother if he was innocently attacked. If anything I’m pleased he did. however, given the money the players and the club have. The club really should insist they take low key security with them if they are going out late into the night to clubs. Im not saying this includes going for a meal or the supermarket. But blanket rule, out after 9pm in the city centre and you have minder. A couple of big low key guys watching for such things, then grabbing lasscelles and his brother and getting them out of there straight away would be ideal. problem is, it only takes one person to take offence, jealousy or even just be off their tits to cause a problem. And that’s even from our own fans.
