Quick, lock the thread!

Job done, move on!

League record at home surprised me on TNT, summit like last 50 games we've lost 5 and 4 of those where City, Arsenal and Liverpool, and make that 51 now.
-
Great performance, Hall was excellent, love the midfield 3, everyone fully fit we have a great squad, let's fucking crush this season!
-
This is always the pattern though right? One twat says something, rest of them jump on for the clicks. Nowhere is reporting it outside of Twitter?
-
Feels like a leap based on the info they're sharing to say this means City definitely won the case, how legit is this guy? Not just another clickbaiting wanker?
-
Sad to hear, whatever you think of City, one of the very best to play the position in Premier League history 100%, hopefully recovers fully (then goes to Madrid )

Whilst I agree that the cesspit that is social media for example is built on negativity and filled with people feeding on it, which I truly detest, are we not getting a little carried away here? What's the answer if that article is deemed inappropriate, you can't write any articles that are in any way negative? Or is it just related to his age? If so then what age is it appropriate to be critical? Same with the reaction to people on here saying they have concerns about his defensive abilities, it's a very valid concern in my opinion, albeit it's irrelevant whether I personally think so or not. Surely if it's done in a constructive way it's ok to share such a viewpoint? If it's a personal attack on him then that's obviously out of line, but I didn't see any of that in the last few pages, and to be fair, Howe clearly has reservations about him when he wasn't even getting minutes last season when we had circa 12 players fit, and then this season Howe's rotating him despite the fact he's said he hates to rotate the backline. He may go on to be a superstar left-back, I'm sure we all hope that's the case, but right now there are valid concerns worth discussing.

I'm convinced there'a a bot setup from some twat to troll Longstaff with the ratings, it can't be real, never seen anything like it, albeit I don't look super often, but multiple times have seen him be 2-3 and everyone else 3-4 points higher, it's nonsense, think one game he got a goal and assist and got a 4, like I say, nonsense!
-
Well it was clearly their strategy to sit off and let us have the ball to hit us on the counter so was difficult to not look the better side.
-
And props to Howe, one of many games he's turned around from losing at half-time to winning, fuck the media causing shit wanting him for England, he's not leaving!
-
How many teams don't play their best 11 to give them options off the bench?... Don't think that's a thing. I hope and expect to see Tonali and Barnes start next game.
-
I would be shocked if that's the general feeling? And anyone who thinks that way is fucking nuts Would 1,000,000% be on board with us doing what City and Chelsea did, as in buy every top player around as they were allowed to do. We've not won a thing in forever, I couldn't give a shit how we do it, just want to see us win something, the fact we are the richest club in the world and aren't even allowed to compete at the top levels is a pure wind-up!
-
Fucking Harry Maguire's too blame as usual, twat!
-
I just remember us being linked to him, no idea other than that.

I'm obviously just speculating thus me stating it was hypothetical, and as I said previously, we all seemingly are in agreement it's been poor, I would've expected we'd have a deadline to walk away, presume they had reasons to pursue it as long as they did. @Kid Icarusasked for some logic and part of that would make sense to me, egg on our face now though and seemingly lessons to be learnt
-
Hypothetical scenario (dates may be out but it's irrelevant): Mid July - Howe & Co - Let's go get Guehi, circa 60m should do it Around same time Todibo is going to West Ham, Howe & Co consider trying to hijack that deal and get him instead: a) Maybe he would rather move to London than Newcastle b) We think Guehi is much better and believe we can get him Could list c, d and e etc reasons re attitude etc to elaborate further reasons why Guehi>>>>Todibo End of July - Negotiations with Parish for Guehi not going fully as expected, Parish seems to want to play hardball, our perception is we can come up a little and 1-2 weeks time we'll get this done Rinse repeat Todibo scenario with some other potential options Mid August - Howe & Co starting to worry, surely Parish will sell him in the end though, and if we have to pay slightly over what we deem fair value so be it. End of August - Howe & Co realise Parish clearly isn't bluffing, Anderson has unexpectably been sold, another CB of Palace has been injured, so Parish deems fit to increase the price multiple time, this has now gone to shit and we've basically fucked it up.... And here we are! Now everyone's welcome to criticise their approach, but a lot of the criticism seems results orientated which I personally would look to avoid as it's all well and good with hindsight, but I'd rather try to judge the situation on what I deem to be a fairer basis than that.
-
I wouldn't go too deep on it mate, we know Howe doesn't share a lot with the media, just saying an alternative thought that has some credibility to me. I think basically everyone's in agreement that overall our approach and handling of the situation has been poor, personally I'm willing to accept what's happened this time around as I think everyone involved wants the best for the club, and unlike some other people, I'm willing to allow people to make mistakes and fuck up sometimes, it happens. I think there's a massively unrealistic expectation on how quick deals should be done, what do people expect, if we offer someone £55 million for a player, we can't just offer £60 million 5 minutes later, it's likely they thought Parish was posturing and would cave at some point, seems they've badly misread that situation, and whilst they clearly will understand the intricacies of making a deal of this kind infinitely more than I do, personally I would've thought at some point you should tell the other club if we don't come to an agreement by x date we'll have to pull out and move on. God knows why we didn't see fit to do that, but as I say, I trust the intentions of everyone involved is genuine so they have a pass from me this time, rinse repeat the same situation next Summer and we should probably start worrying.
-
Maybe he was referring to the longer term effects, and Howe doesn't think an alternative option who he's less sure on that costs £40-50 million is a risk worth taking when it effects how much we can spend in future windows.
-
Agree, very impressive after 10 months out, looks class
-
What do you think then, 5th is basically guaranteed and good chance we get 3rd? If not I'm not sure how you think it's a wild statement I'm not speaking about my opinion either btw, I'm talking about the perception of the media and any potential signings possible impressions. I'm probably seen as delusional but think if we run good with injuries and have a bit of luck we can get 3rd, my point is I keep seeing people saying why didn't we sign x,y and z without actually considering if they'd want to join us, Marmawhateverthefuck he's called who's signing for Liverpool, never gave any indication he wanted to sign for us, words coming out from that side at the time seemed he wasn't interested, but now a bunch of people are criticizing the club saying we should've signed him and how much we fucked up missing out, same with Chiesa but @Shadow Puppetshas just stated in Guehi channel that he wouldn't come to us because of no European football, but let's just ignore the fact of whether someone actually wants to sign or not! Just seems a bit delusional from some to not be acknowledging the current situation we find ourselves in, not referring to yourself here @AyeDubbleYoo btw, don't recollect who it was doing it just seen it a bunch from people and seems to lack any reality.
-
Upper mid-table means 7-9th right? You think that's a wild statement? Bookmakers generally have us coming 6th, because of the impact of Europe on Villa otherwise would be 7th at best.
-
How many clubs do we think right now are more attractive than signing for us right now in the Premier League? City Arsenal Liverpool Spurs Chelsea Man U Aston Villa Assume most would be in agreement on those? Then possibly West Ham with the London factor, maybe Brighton appeal to some more than us being near London and generally widely regarded as a great run club who help players improve and grow. So that's circa 7-8 clubs just in the League who right now are more appealling than us, then what, 15-20 more clubs across Europe? So we are looking at around 30 clubs that are more attractive to potential signings rather than join us, then add in the fact that we literally can't afford to get ONE fucking big signing wrong because of PSR, it's not hard to see why the window has been slower than we'd hope or why there isn't a line of other options outside of our main targets. I think the idea we should pay £30-40 million for stopgap signings would be a big mistake long term, unless you know PSR will be completely scrapped, which nobody does. I get the frustrations, and there's highly likely been some mistakes made by those responsible, but we are in a tough spot all round right now and if we don't sign anybody this Summer I still think 5th and Champions League is achievable with a bit of luck and running good with injuries, call me part of the happy clapper brigade if you want, but I just think it's not as simple as people are making out, and the club have gave no reason for us to doubt their intentions that they clear want us to grow as quick as we can.
-
What a truly absurd situation we've allowed ourselves to get into where probably over half the fanbase are seething over what would be a club record purchase. Some people are clearly losing their heads but there's also certainly valid criticism over how this deal seems to have been handled, lessons need to be learned by those responsible, and fast! Palace have done as is their right, but, seem to have completely took the piss out of us here, optically it looks very poor on our side.
-
I get the frustration that we've not made any significant progress in this window, but the amount of people flapping I find very odd. We basically know for certain that the club will attempt to spend the maximum we are allowed to every window, and we know we've tried to make big money signings in the two positions everyone's basically aligned on that we need to, but that hasn't worked out to date. That doesn't equate to failure, its just how it goes. Liverpool supposedly have the best guy in the business in Edwards, they persued Zubemendi, that fell through and doesn't seem they have a backup, plenty other examples as well am sure. I'm not saying we shouldn't be ambitious and for sure we need to keep progressing, and I get we live in a world we're literally every fucker has an opinion, and of course their's is the right one, but you'd be very hard pressed to make a valid argument that the club isn't in very good hands. So just let them do there thing and if we end up not making any major signings then so be it, at least if fucking PSR is still in place next Summer we'll be in a much better spot to attack that window aggressively. Massive season ahead, I for one have huge hope regardless of who, if anyone, that we bring in!
