It's a classic how Sterliong scores a screamer and then Joelinton misses that..
-
That's one of the worst misses I've seen. Because in many of the worst ones the ball is bouncing or is coming fast from short range. It's directly from a corner into an open net. Incredible.

The difference (outside of who's best up top) is that we would play Gordon wide instead of Joelinton wide (swapping with Willock). Not sure if that's a huge difference to our midfield in particular. As much as I love Joelinton, he still hasn't hit the form of last season in the midfield (yet).
-
Gordon wasn't great either.. I just think we're getting so much more from Gordon when he's playing on the left. It's our main threat, and feels like he was wasted up top against Bournemouth.
-
Maybe you're right. When was the last time we played Big Joe as a striker? Didn't he score 2? It was against Norwich in april 2022 if I remember correctly. Can't remember whether we have played him up top after that.
-
Maybe I'm silly, but I'd rather play Joelinton upfront than Gordon if Isak is still out. Atleast Joelinton has some height and strength, Gordon looked a bit lost up there last time. I think Gordon on the left would be better.

Post deleted. What did it say?

He probably wont start though, right?

This Swiss coach doesn't like Schär..

Reminds me of all the articles about us after the takeover. Here are some of the players that we were going to tripple the wages of: Bale, Ronaldo, Hazard, Alli, Neymar, Aubameyang, Umtiti, Coutinho, Depay, Suarez and Lukaku.

Aw come on, let the fans here believe that he wanted to rest to be ready for Chelsea. Crazy if it's true though. Do you have a source?
-
The difference between the big teams and the smaller teams har only increased after financial fair play, and the prices has become inflated like crazy. It kind of seems like FFP was really just a way to make sure that the top sides stay on top..

Not really surprised, they were whining about timewasting for more than half a year after that 0-0 game.. We've had several teams do that to us in some of our draws last season, but we got over it pretty quickly. On every social media post they were commenting stuff like "Timewaster FC", and most of the complaints about our timewasting last season came from Arsenal fans. The rest of the toxic comments are from Liverpool fans commenting about oil money and human rights after we took their CL spot. Funny how Liverpool fans all of a sudden started caring so much more about human rights in Saudi after we got 4th ahead of them.

I can see them getting better technology in the future for offsides and ball out of play. Things like hawkeye and semi automated offside technology. That should make it more effective and accurate, maybe with time VAR can confirm or change these decidions in an instant. We could just scrap the subjective decisions from VAR? Maybe apart from the most obvious ones. Don't feel like we need to scrap the entire thing.
-
If you mean the viewing experience, then maybe. In terms of refereeing mistakes in key situations there are definetly way less of them after VAR. There's no doubt about that. The mistakes are just being talked about way more, because people hold them to a way higher standard when they can watch the replays.
-
They're either rushing it too much or they're taking to long is another classic complaint. Sometimes it feels like whatever they do they will be heavily criticised. I get VAR isn't perfect in the PL, but sometimes they just can't win. You have some situations where nomatter what they do, even if they do the right thing, they will be critcised like hell.

Well this has been a rollercoaster, hasn't it? Kinda like our season so far.

Had a dream that we tried out the 4-4-2 formation against Spurs, but they beat us 7-6. Somehow Wilson had 3 goals and 4 assists despite us scoring just 6. The game before that he had 3 goals and 3 assists, but I don't remember the opponent or the result in that one.

Faced just 1 top 8 team in those fixtures to be fair.
