You've got to ask question about their transfer decisions this window if that's the case.. Wouldn't be surprised if they shell out huge money on midfield and defence aswell before the window closes, though. "Will run out of money before christmas."

No excuse to finish outside of top 5 to be honest. He has had more than half a season already, and a massive window, and with no European games. Them being shite under his management last season doesn't mean that they should lower the standards for him this season.

I think there was some focus on trying to make Isak join the high press, though. The more he does the high pressing, the faster he will gas out. If Liverpool doesn't do this as much with him he might last longer.

They know that if they start bidding, they will just drive up the price with rejected bids. Then, as they expected, Isak start acting up. Liverpool eventually lowballs knowing that it will get rejected, and as planned stops bidding to not drive the price up, while letting everyone including Isak know that his club is still not cooperating at all, so he needs to do more. Now they are just waiting for the mood to sour more and more so they can finally start negotiating the price down as much as possible when the window gets closer to its conclusion.

They made the bid extra low because they knew that bid was never going through. Even now. They just wanted more drama. They will bid just slightly more.

It's so obvious that Liverpool has been holding their bids back all along to just wait for him to make an absolute scene of it. That way they wouldn't need to repeat bids that were rejected before he threw a tantrum.

After Isak has been acting up, then sure.. Before that he kept reporting that Newcastle don't want to sell, and it would take atleast 150m. He even said it when there was just rumours about Isak being unsettled, if I remember correctly.

I'm seeing 4 goals and 9 assists in 3 PL seasons? Only played for half the season in 23/24, as I think he was injured for a long time. I don't think the offensive stats are that bad. I actually thought his weakness was defensively, but maybe I'm wrong. If I remember correctly he has played as a wingback for Brighton in his first season where he got 5 assists under De Zerbi.

Colwill out for the season means Chelsea will just pay another 100m for a defender then? Maybe even nick Thiaw from us just to bully us.

So is Liverpool just waiting for Isak, and if we don't get a replacement they will play the season with 1 less striker? Do they even have a plan B?
